Windows powered tablets are slowly but certainly making their presence felt. Asus is one player usually associated with Windows powered mobile computing, but China’s Lenovo doesn’t want to be left behind.
For that, Lenovo introduced the Miix 3 8 tablet in China today. It comes with a 7.85-inch display with an austere 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, and a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor. It runs with a stock frequency of 1.33GHz, and has 2GB of RAM at its disposal to make for a decent portable setup.
32GB on-board is what the Miix 3 8 offers for elementary storage needs, which can later be expanded via microSD. 2 mega-pixel front/rear cameras sit on either side of the Miix 3 8, certainly falling short of the Dell Venue 7840 by a margin.
Gizchina News of the week
Thanks to a 15 Watt-hour battery, the Miix 3 8 can go on for up to 7 hours of use, not bad for a Windows tablet by any means. It’s only announced for the Chinese market for now, but those in the US and other prominent markets can expect the device to be made available soon. It will sell for 1,499 Yuan in China, roughly $245; now you know about how much you’ll have to dish out for this one when it comes to your country.
