Leaked press images from a UMi presentation have been sent to us which focus on the UMi Zero ’Superbody’ construction and high quality materials.
We are actually quietly expectant about the UMi Zero, and are excited to see exactly what UMi have managed to produce for their next flagship device, and teasers such as these are just wetting our appetite!
These latest images along with some text explain that the construction process which, UMi are calling a “Superbody”, is actually a term they are using to describe the alloy chassis of the new phone. According to the leaks provided by our sources, the UMi Zero’s chassis is made of a aircraft grade alloy, placing it in the same league as the Meizu MX4 and the iPhone 6.
In fact UMi aren’t shy about the iPhone 6 comparisons and have even shown the 6.9mm iPhone 6 in comparison to their own 6.4mm Zero along with the thicker Meizu MX4 and Xiaomi Mi4. With these comparisons in mind it is clear to see that UMi are hoping to take their place at the top of the Chinese market, but specification will determine how well they can compete.

As for the specs, only a few details are known to be concrete, and those include a battery that will be larger than 2000mAh and the use of a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Samsung Super AMOLED display. Still a rare site on phones from 3rd parties, and a detail that could help the UMi sit above similar phones.

Adding to the Superbody, both the front and rear glass panels have been confirmed to be laminated Corning Gorilla Glass 3, similar to the Huawei Ascend P7 and Oppo R1 devices.
We have also heard rumours that the UMi Zero will use a 2.0Ghz octacore MT6592T processor, and we hope to see around 2GB RAM and decent camera tech too.
The UMi Zero really represents a change from the Chinese phone maker whose most recent phone have included the UMi C1, UMi X1 Pro and UMi X3.
