Zopo have been steadily releasing LTE phones this year either through updating existing products or launching all new phones. So far though most of their 4G phones have been mid-range, however on the 25th a higher end model will launch.
On the 25th December, Zopo will release the LTE version of their flagship Zopo ZP998. The phone will will get a slight cosmetic change with a new logo on the rear, and specifications have been changed to include an MT6290 LTE modem attached to the current 8-core MT6592.
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the hardware remains the same, while pricing in China will be 1199 Yuan. But we don’t think you should buy it. Zopo are known for recycling their older devices to get as much out of them as possible, and we really don’t think that a LTE version of the Zopo ZP998 with MT6592 is worth buying at this time. Instead we suggest that you hold out for an MT6595 version of the phone, or wait for Zopo to release a new device based on the new chip, as the performance and GPS improvements are amazing.
Currently it is only Meizu that have released a phone running the powerful new MT6595 SoC, but other phone makers will likely be following in their footsteps soon.
