The Jolla Jolla or the Jolla phone has been in the market for a year now, and is still making its way into new markets. The latest of which is India, a sudden hot-favourite among makers international and Chinese.
Jolla hails from Finland, like Nokia (the company it spun-off from). Speaking of the phone per sé, there isn’t anything that’ll blow your mind or such, but it’s still something you might want to own. Jolla made their own OS, based on Android (with support for Android apps) which they call Sailfish OS. Lets take a look at the specifications.
Gizchina News of the week
Specifications
- 4.5-inch 960 x 540p display
- 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB on-board storage, expandable
- 8 mega-pixel rear camera
- 2 mega-pixel front camera
- 2100mAh battery
- Sailfish OS
The Sailfish OS aims to improve the user experience with intuitive controls. Unlike traditional smartphones, the Jolla phone works on swipes and gestures instead of buttons.
In India, the Jolla phone is priced 16,499 INR or US$270. There’s no doubt that it is expensive for the specs set it has on offer, but I have a feeling this one does deserve a chance.
The Jolla phone is sold exclusively via Snapdeal.com in India.
