MPIE G7 costs less than $150 with LTE, 2GB RAM and fingerprint scanner!

This is what we like to see! A well thought out phone with a balanced hardware set up, security features and even a 4G LTE data connection!

All to often we report on a phone that almost hits every nail on the head then falls at the last hurdle! Either it has an ugly design, lacks LTE or gets a tiny amount of RAM which lets the phone as a whole down.

The MPIE G7 is one of the few phones that actually checks a lot of the boxes while still remaining well priced at less than $150!

Boating FDD LTE, a fingerprint scanner, and 2GB RAM already shows pretty good value for money, but the list continues with a 1280 x 720 HD 5-inch display, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, micro SD for up to 64GB cards, and dual SIM!

Gizchina News of the week

Ok so it has a quad-core MT6582 processor rather than an octacore and the rear camera is only 8 mega-pixel, but as a package it all looks to be fully equipped and should perform well enough for most users.

Throw in the fact that MPIE have clone the Oppo Find 7 and you have a phone that it going to be drawing in a lot of attention, especially in the run up to Christmas.

What do you think of the MPIE G7? Do you agree that is looks like a well rounded phone for the money or do you expect more from a $150 smartphone?

The interessting part will be the (FDD-)LTE-frequencies.

Only Elephone (P3000/P3000S) clearly states their working FDD-LTE-frequencies.

This is a definite purchase for me then.
150$ is cheaper than most unlocked 4G hotspots.

I bet the reason for this low price is because price for MTK6582 has gone down due to the arrival of newer MTK CPUs. So it’s not at all surprising.

Why aren’t all bands open on these phones?

I’m having the same problem trying to find a nice device that supports north america frequencies.here in the US people are used to spend 100 bucks a month on a contract for wireless. The amount of people on prepaid or pay as you go is very small. It’s all about market targeting, forget about getting support for north america bands

Finding phones that support North American LTE frequencies isn’t easy but several Chinese phones support 3G+ on ATT and Tmobile.

Most of these phones aren’t made for the American market. The sales in the US on a phone like this will be relatively low.

Maybe Blu will rebrand this and give it the 4g freqs for US?

    • balcobomber25
      September 30, 2014

It depends who the OEM of this phone is, Blu has a partnership with Gionee (who is one of the biggest OEM’s). More likely Blu will introduce the 5.1 with LTE for the US.

Pity this phone was not released 6 weeks ago as I got a Zopo ZP520 at $199.00 for my wife with much the same hardware but only single sim and 1GB ram and it has a good range of LTE bands that make it good for UK / Europe

Great phone, great looks, especially in Black. With the 2 GB RAM it is a steal. I hope this notification LED is not just Photoshop fake. It can be had for 133 USD at dealsmachine.com, in case you are interested :):)
