JiaYu aim to attract affluent Chinese customers with a 20K gold version of the super slim JiaYu S2 smartphone.
The company that brought us the JiaYu G3 and JiaYu G4 flagship phones, and the affordable JiaYu F1 haven’t been in the news much recently, but they are still at work and looking to attract more affluent clients.
JiaYu have taken their slim S2, octacore smartphone and coated it with a 20K gold plating to produce the limited edition Gold Edition JiaYu S2. The Gold S2, was announced on the JiaYu forums but no price has been released, and we don’t expect it to be cheap.
The JiaYu S2 mimics the design of the iPhone 5S, is make of Stainless steel and features an octacore MT6592 processor, 2GB RAM, 5-inch 1080 display and 13 mega-pixel Panasonic main camera.
A Gold Edition JiaYu S2 is an interesting phone, but it is hardly the type of device JiaYu are known for. When will we see JiaYu release another killer smartphone that will take the Chinese smartphone world by storm? Or have we already seen the best from them?
I have only one thought about this…
Why?….
For the same reason as the Blackberry Porsche editions. For the same reason as getting Windows 95 running on an Android Wear device. For the same reason every manufacturer tries to increase the pixel count of their phone cameras as high as possible. Because we can, dammit, and we don’t care if we should or not.

You would think Jiayu would spend that time and resources to keep up with the current crop of flagships coming out of China. Then again a lot of these companies have some of the worst business plans (or lack thereof) so this about par for the course.
Jiayu doesn’t make flagship phone they didn’t care to make one. I’m waiting for a 95 mtk phone with some battery 3000-4000 and 4.7-5 inch I don’t care about the other a 13mp camera is fine.
It’s great gift for my sweetheart on forthcoming 2016!
Waiting for Jiayu mt6595 phone
