They’re back! JiaYu announce details of 64Bit, LTE, JiaYu S3!

jiayu s3 mediatek details

Like a dormant volcano, JiaYu have been silent for months, and now news about the pioneering Chinese brand is spewing forth! The big news is that they have an all new flagship phone on the way called the JiaYu S3 with new 64Bit processor.

JiaYu have really changed their attitude toward new phone releases. In the past JiaYu we’re well known, infamous even, for releasing teasers and spy photos of the next generation phones months before they had even finalised designs. This resulted in a lot of angry fans waiting months for their dream phone to arrive.

Finally it seems they have learnt their lesson and after most of the year being quiet they have finally reached out to us with details of their all new Android flagship phone.

As you would expect from JiaYu their new device will be an LTE equipped phone based on a Mediatek SoC, but exultingly it is the new 64 Bit MT6752 chipset that will make it’s way in to the new JiaYu.

Named the JiaYu S3, the phone will also boast a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 3GB RAM, and removable 3000mAh battery. Sony will be supplying the 13 mega-pixel CMOS rear camera, and other features including dual SIM, FDD-LTE, dual speakers and NFC.

So far all we have to go on is this early leaked image of the phone. Looking closely to seems as though the 5.5-inch display will have a narrow bezel, the JiaYu S3 will use traditional Android navigation on the chin, and the dual speakers will either be on the base or the rear of the phone.

Hopefully JiaYu won’t have us waiting to long before they unleash their new phone and start to mix it up with the recently announced Zopo ZP999 and the Mediatek equipped Meizu MX4.

400$??? The best and most powerful phones has less than 400! Less than 300$ then is a good buy!

even doh they have been quiet for a long time, there is still no guarantee that they have fixed their production & delivery issues. Only time (after ordering) will tell.

Seems like it’s their most popular phone so I guess it’s only natural.

Just did a search on Ali-Express and found one store pre-sale for S3 at $299.99 free shipping to the UK but no info on LTE-FDD supported bands

Be aware that their software support is horrendous, their hardware is solid though.

Why doesn’t update the battery?? A 4000 will be nice this phone to have!! Why we should stay with the old small battery and have bigger and more power phone? This is not right.

Yes! Would like a better battery, but the 2000mah on the G5S has more than surprised me. If s3 has micro SD expansion and comparable build to S2 then count me in. 🙂

5,5″ Screen size… I give up. Too big for me.

I have one Kingzone k1 with 5.5″. Before I thought it would be too big and clumsy as it was what I thought of my Galaxy note 1 with 5.3″. Today I think 5.0 ~ 5.5 ” the perfect size. Below that I think small and uncomfortable to type and surf the internet.

Oh Jiayu, Jiayu, Jiayu – where is the 4.5 – 4.6 inch competitor to the Sony Z3 compact?
Let’s face it, this is where the gap in the market is for this company. Why haven’t they followed up the G2S/G2F (although the latter was a supply chain clusterfeck) with a decent hi-specced pocketable successor?

      October 13, 2014

G2f is quite incredible! But the battery, i dont know, if it is the African networks which are badly optimised, i think it could be slightly better. Dont get me wrong it is a good phone.

      Z3 Compact 127.3 x 64.9 x 8.6 mm with 4.6″ screen
      G4S 133 x 65 x 10 mm with 4.7″ screen

Fair enough. Bung an MT6752 into one of those and I’m interested!

I think Jiayu would be stupid to abandon those form factor since from what I’ve seen G4S is successful. The ultimate question when it’s about Jiayu is “when”.

Same size as G4/5 would be nice, alloy body, and a 1080 screen, well even a 720p would be good, the screen on the G4S is outstanding for a 720. Big phones are unwieldy beasts, go on JiaYu, do the right ting, make us a smaller top end phone, dual SIM and transflash support of course.

I was actually thinking the exact same thing. I wish someone would make a quality 4.5 inch screen phone with a nice metal body, just like the G5.

Maybe they’ll make a G5 with a new 64 bit processor but I still don’t understand why everyone has to make 5.5 inch phones and the “mini” versions are 5 inch ones.

Just make some smaller ones and call them micro if you must but I know many people that are looking for decent small screen smartphones.

My G4S with the 3,000 mAh battery is as large as I want to go, the thickness is not an issue as I don’t mind a slightly chunkier phone as a trade off for a good battery.

Everyone who sees it admires that phone, even the Phone Shop drones, when i delivered a case of I phones the other day LOL.
