Shooting down rumours that the Oppo N3 will have a 20.7 mega-pixel sensor like the Meizu MX4, Oppo bosses have confirmed a 16 mega-pixel unit.

The details regarding the rotating camera on the Oppo N3 were revealed earlier today on the official Weibo of Oppo CEO Tony Chen. In the post it was confirmed that the next generation Oppo camera phone will not have a 20.7 mega-pixel camera as believed earlier but instead a 16 mega-pixel sensor.

Mega-pixels aren’t everything and Oppo are hoping the 1/2.3 sensor size of the camera will be enough to create some very impressive shots.

Yesterday we saw from an official Facebook post that the 16 mega-pixel sensor will be mounted on a leather backed rotating camera pod with dual LED flash in the Oppo N3. Other specs include the possibility of metal bodies, 2K display and even a Snadpragon 805 processor.
