Xiaomi have started sales of the Xiaomi Mi Box Pro with 4K video support and up to 2GB RAM in China.
The Xiaomi Mi Box Pro is the latest incarnation of the popular Xiaomi Android set top box and the most powerful to date. The basic specs for the 299 Yuan TV box include 1GB RAM, 2.0Ghz quad-core processor, hexa-core Mali 450GPU, 4GB internal storage, dual band WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4K video output. There is also a slightly more expensive 399 Yuan version with 2GB RAM.
Having more power this time round is not only good for 4K video, but great news for anyone wanting to make use of the latest Xiaomi gamepad and play games on the compact home appliance.
Currently only Chinese customers are able to get their hands on the MiBox Pro, but international resellers will also be offering it soon enough.
i live in europe and i got it ( 2Gb model ) since 3 months, bought it on Aliexpress
Care to share some thoughts?
Does it have English? Google play?
Thanks!
out of the box it’s chinese only
but you can use an alternative launcher, install google play, change language
i use it as a XBMC box
Thanks!
Does it support external subtitles!? What launcher you installed?
Thank you
You should have replied to patator…
But my guess is that if he uses XBMC then you can load external subtitles.
I think it’s hard to compete with the latest Google’s box.
I disagree. This is a much better made anroid box than any other in the market. I sell/ configure android and windows TV boxes. So far this one is the best design and quality. I have one that is 4gb / 64 go. Unfortunately I have to root it and the change the language.
Hey guys. Forgive my complete ignorance but what are those boxes for? Can you access to some sort of movie gallery? play some games? store some movies that you can read on your TV?
Thx
M.
Pretty much anything you can do on your phone or tablet you can do on boxes like these. From streaming movies to playing games. It basically turns your TV into an Android device. You can run virtually all your favorite apps on it.
FYI: with the latest firmware ( 1.3.53 ), there’s no root available
Do you need membership? Or works out of the box?
