Oppo Find 7 finally gets an official Android 4.4 Kitkat update

Oppo fans your long suffering with Android 4.3 has finally come to an end with the official release of Android 4.4. Kitkat based ColorOS for the Find 7.

The Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a are both fantastic phones (when the screens aren’t playing up that is), but what has let the hardware down of this flagship phone is the Android 4.3 based Color OS ROM.

Oppo Find 7 users were starting to worry that perhaps Oppo had forgotten all about updating the Find 7 to Kitkat, but that concern can finally be put to bed with the official update being announced earlier today.

Along with an update to Android 4.4 the new update, aka ColorOS 2.0i also brings with it a new UI and new system wide animations. In fact many of the new Colour OS 2.0 features can be seen in our hands on video made earlier this year.

Below is Oppo’s official video showing off the new features.

While the good news is that the update is here, the bad news is this is not an OTA update and fans will have to head over to the Oppo Forums to manually download and install it.

We hope Oppo Find 7 fans will let us know how they get on now that they finally have Kitkat on their devices.

From being on board with the oppo n1 they promised this months ago since July then august and so on. Only reason I stuck around for this update is cause this is my only phone. And I need to find a international reseller for the meizu mx4 cause oppo’s let me down with the broken promises. Time to move on to the bigger and better

oppo atm is very expensive, find7 is a very good mobile phone, has some issues(no unified memory, battery wont last a day.etc) but still would be a valid choice if there wasnt one plus one then, now we have many devices that offer as much at a lower price,

oppo seems to me like lenovo and vivo ,they make quality products ,but their pricing is out of range, if i am about to splash that amound of cash for a mobile i would go for a samsung/htc etc and i would know that i would get updates on time.oppo is very late ,first of all they could had kitkat when the phone launched, and right now there is a craze for lolipop, and they anounce kitkat? seriusly? who even cares for kitkat? i have kitkat in my samsung galaxy s1….

oppo made opo, and we have xiaomi-meizu going head to head, lenovo will create sth new too. and even new companies make their marks with new phones like the iuni team.
