Got a Zopo ZP980+ as your daily driver? Well its about time you take a break and get some Kitkat on their with the recently release Android 4.4 update.
Ok so now some phone users are looking forward to getting Lollypop on their phones, but the sad reality is that even now there are phones still on Android 4.3 or lower. Even the flagship Oppo Find 7 only managed to get an official Kitkat update!
Anyway back to the Zopo ZP980+, if you have this phone don’t sit around waiting for an OTA update as it isn’t going to happen. If you want Kitkat you are going to have to get down and dirty with a manual install.
Gizchina News of the week
You’ll need to download a few necessary files and follow these instructions, but once complete you will finally be running Android 4.4.

What about zopo c2/zp980? Will these ever get an official kitkat update @andi?
If you are asking about OTA updates, then the answer is no.
@david Whether manual update is available for zopo c2/zp980?
Look at needrom. There is a 4.4.2 rom from a brave developer called Paolo in 7th version now
And working like a charm…
FCK Zopo mediocrity
I will never buy a Zopo phone again.
My recently acquired Inew V3 (Black) came with Kitkat installed and worth another look, though updated model due soon.

Since Firmware Updates are available all the people go crazy. Back in the days of Nokia or other non Smartphones it was one firmware from the start up and thats it!!
Everyone is expecting lifetime warranty and infinite updates on the most actual android version for all eternity. There are so many possibilities with hacking and custom Roms and its not that difficult to flash a custom rom on an outdated Smartphone yourself.
If there is a smartphone which is a bit popular there for sure is a custom firmware available.
You just have to read and learn a little bit and follow some instructions, everyone can do it!
By the time there is a new Android Version from Google your phone will be outdated anyway with many new features your phone may be not even able to support cause of missing sensors or new technologies.
I also love to hear ” I will never buy a phone from zopo again!!” Oh wow that is going to change so much, are you really going to never ever buy from them?? lets talk about it when you see a new cool looking phone of them 😉
That kind of ” punishment” gives us peace of mind with believing that we stand proud.
But this is doing nothing at all.
For a chinese Company its good if they even come up with the next actual Firmware.
Whatever they, or other companies promise about future Firmware updates, never ever trust their words. I always expect to live with the actual firmware or other custom firmwares based on the phones firmware version and thats it. If there is an update, I am happy about!!! And if not, well , I have to life with it.
I had two Zopo Phones, the ZP1000 and the ZP998 and for now the ZP999. The first phones came with Jelly bean and both received an upgrade to Kitkat, so for me Zopo is doing it just right. If there will be a update to Lolipop for the ZP999 I would be happy and if not well……….I dont care.

Recently did the Kitkat upgrade on my ZP980+. Wow if only this phone came out with a nice working and performing ROM. Completely eliminated all the ZP980 issues (dissapearing keyboard, cpu over heating, signal dropping). Was going to get a Mi3, but will stick with the Zopo for now.
