Start-up Geak have just announced their second generation Geak Watch II is now up for presale, boasting a beautiful design and round touch screen.
Moving away from the square, generic look of their original Android powered smartwatch, Chinese start-up Geak have unveiled their new Geak Watch II wearable devices at a conference in China.
The original Geak Watch was one of the first smartwatches to go on sale, and although a nice device for a new company it left a lot to be designed in terms of features and design.
The Geak Watch II comes in standard and Pro configurations and like the original model uses a slimmed down Android OS rather than Google’s Android Wear operating system. Also unlike the current Android Wear products the Geak Watch II has decent battery life, the basic model boasting 15 days while the Pro gets a boost of up to 18 days! Charging the watch is via dedicated charger cable instead of a dock.
Where as the original watch had a square display the new model has a 1.26 320 x 320 round display which helps to give a traditional watch look, with fingerprint resistant finish to avoid smudges and marks and made of Dragontrail glass to help prevent cracks.

A traditional watch theme continues with an metal body and luxurious leather strap that houses Bluetooth 4.0 (2.3 in the basic model), WIFI 2.4Ghz, 384mb RAM, 2GB memory, and a heart rate monitor (on the Pro version only).
Both versions of the watch are available for pre-order via Geak’s Chinese website to customers in China with the basic version costing 1999 Yuan and the Pro model 2499 Yuan. Watches will be delivered to customers in December.
