Tomorrow Oppo will announce the Oppo N3 along with a mystery slim phone which could be the all new Oppo R5 smartphone with Snapdragon 615.
We’re going to take these specs with a pinch of salt as the source, Oppomart.com, are known for posting specs ahead of a phones launch just to boost traffic, but perhaps they have some insider knowledge this time around?
The online reseller claims the Oppo R5 is a 5.5-inch phone with 1280 x 720 display. Processing power comes from a 64bit Snapdragon 615 SoC which is also rumoured to be in the upcoming flagship Xiaomi Redmi phone and the next gen Coolpad Great God F2.
Specs continue with a rumoured 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, LTE, 13 mega-pixel camera, VOOC fast charging and Oppo’s ColorOS.
Oppomart have the Oppo R5 priced up at $499 which is about right for an Oppo phone these days, i.e. way more expensive than the competition.
Let’s see if these details are accurate once the launch event kicks off tomorrow in Beijing.
Oppo management’s must be really greedy! What are they thinking!? $499 for a phone with “last year’s” chip! They are copying Apple’s strategy, sell it at high price because people think the more expensive the better! #NeverBuyOppoAgain
While $499 is expensive. The Snapdragon 615 is hardly last year’s chip. It supports 64bit and is an Octo-Core processor from Qualcomm. How is that last year’s? It was only announced this year in February 24th and the only phone that uses this chip was announced in September by HTC.
Secondly, Oppomart is an online RESELLER. That price is not the official price launched by Oppo.
