An updated version of the Vivo X5 turns up at TENAA detailing a new processor that looks very much like the octacore Snapdragon 615 SoC.
Vivo, big brother of Oppo and OnePlus, have had their slim Vivo X5 smartphone on sale since earlier on in the year. In typical Vivo fashion the X5 has proven to be popular due to it great camera and music features all wrapped in a quality 6.3mm body.
With almost a year under its belt the Vivo X5 is about due a refresh which typically sees Vivo updating the current Mediatek SoC to the more advanced unit on the market. In this case it would usually mean an updated from 1.7Ghz MT6592 to 2.2Ghz MT6595 or similar but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
In the TENAA database the Vivo X5V has shown up with a 1.5Ghz chipset and considering the phone has 2GB RAM and high end features (for a mid-range phone) we believe we are going to see an octacore Snapdragon 615 chip in the phone. The Qualcomm chip is a 64bit SoC which was announced in the ultra thin Oppo R5 yesterday (a phone with a very similar all round spec).

As Vivo are only currently targeting Chinese markets with their mid-range phones the listing also only mentions TD LTE 4G network support, unfortunate for international customers.
