Vivo might not mix it up on the social media channels as Meizu and Xiaomi do, but they aren’t shy about simply destroying the competition on specs and design. With that in mind lets look at the leaked specs of the next Vivo Xplay.
Earlier this week Vivo decided that Oppo had held the worlds thinnest title far to long (around a week) so decided that taking their new and all together thinner 4.75mm Vivo X5 Max to TENAA to get the green light for launch.
Now on Weibo an alleged leaked specification sheet claims to out the specifications of the next generation Vivo Xplay.
The Xplay has been Vivo’s flagship phone for the past few years. The current version, the Vivo Xplay 3S was the first phone to boast a 2K display, and the first Chinese phone with 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 801 processor and rear mounted fingerprint scanner. It’s a tough act to follow but Vivo might have done it.
Gizchina News of the week
Specifications show that the phone will be powered by a 2.7Ghz Snapdragon 805 processor with a 6-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution display. It also lists 32GB internal memory and room for a 128GB SD card, 8 mega-pixel f2.4 88 degree front camera, 13 mega-pixel f1.8 rear camera, 3500mAh battery and dedicated ES9018 and OPA2604 audio chips.
The phone will run on Funtouch 2.0 which is based on Android 4.4.4 and will measures in at an incredible158.2 x 81.23 x 5.68!
The last Xplay was launched around this time last year so the new phone is about due. We can’t wait to see this beast in the flesh and review the phone.

This is what I’ve been waiting for! lol The only disappointing thing as far as I can see again is the 13mp camera, why can’t they do what Miezu have done and go for a 20.6mp variant??
Can’t wait to see your review of this one.
yes..20MP for Vivo flagship was sth to expect(always deliver the best camera comapred to the time of release)..if it was dual sim or with stylus pen, that would have been perfect…
ANDI, you would prefer vivo to all other brands(the same models of launch time) if the expense is of no problem, right??even than xperia z3 or world brands, right?
What you think the price will be? Can it be around the same price as the Meizu/Xiaomi phones?
Absolutely no chance for that. This is gonna be a $500 device or more.
it’s too big for you. It’s perfect for me. Just get a different phone.
Vivo has good devices, but their price are high, with no update guarantee and Lollipop already released, shipping with KitKat is a bad move. They should play at Mi4 price range and scrap the high end DAC idea, because clearly only few people care about that (not everyone have $200 earphone and most of them can’t tell the difference, I’m one of them), and they would probably get an iPhone anyway.
I don’t know. They have a niche, they are alwasy the first with the latest tech and they have done well enough to spawn Oppo and OnePlus.
They do have lower cost phones though, but like mid range Oppo phones they are really pricey.
Oh that’s a news to me, I don’t know they own Oppo and OnePlus.
Yes that’s what I mean. Their low price phone can’t compete with Xiaomi or Huawei’s offering here. For the same price, people will buy either Samsung, LG, or Sony here.
Play at Mi4 price range? No. Scrap the high end DAC? Hell no. The main reason I’ve loved Vivo phones is because of their premium builds, great cameras and amazing sound quality. To lower the price would hurt the first two, and getting rid of the great DAC would simply piss off a whole bunch of people who get the thing for it’s audio.
and how many people is in that whole bunch ?? Not many I guess. If they want to become big and make people buy their phone, they should sell their device at lower price. If I were to spend $500+ on a phone right now, I won’t buy XPlay even though I like it, not even an Oppo Find 7, I’d rather get either Galaxy Note 3 or LG G3. And if I want to save more money, I will get LG G2 for $450 or Z Ultra for $350, both also promised to received Lollipop. I don’t know how they’re doing on China, but here in my country, they will need to do something to make people buy their devices.
Vivo and oppo is own by the same company. Their build quality is good however when it comes to software support they are absolutely appauling!
