Elephone have announced that they will be taking the 64bit bull by the horns and releasing the Elephone P6000 in the coming months.
If you are keeping score, then you will know that this announcement is the 3rd from Elephone in the past month. The first being the Elephone P5000 with 5000mAh battery, then the P8 Pro (earlier today) and now the P6000. Thats not to mention the P4000 which although has been online for months isn’t actually in full production.
Anyway, what makes the P6000 such an exciting delvelopment for Elephone is the fact that it will use a new 64bit processor from Mediatek. The chipset they plan to use will be the MT6732 which is a quad-core SoC based on Arm 8 hardware.
From what we know so far, which isn’t all that much, the Elephone P6000 will be a mid ranger with 2GB RAM and a 720p HD display (size unknown). As it has a new MT6732 the phone will also support FDD-LTE, WCDMA and GSM.
So when will the phone launch and how much will it be? Well he date is not clear, and pricing has been put in the hands of Elephone fans, who are encouraged to take part in a poll to suggest the cost.
What do you think a 64bit Elephone smartphone is worth?
