Xiaomi’s phones have turned out to be tough ducks to chase with their extremely competitive pricing, and consequently high demands. After both, the Xiaomi Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S had successful stints at the office, the Chinese OEM is all set to rock the phablet market with its first phablet — the Redmi Note!
Xiaomi India’s (aka ‘Mi India’) assistant product operations manager and erstwhile MIUI India founder Rohit Ghalsasi broke the news a few moments earlier on social media. Xiaomi had announced a 9,999 INR pricing (US$160) for the Redmi Note back when they first forayed into the Indian market. However, it is likely that the device be priced lower than that; Xiaomi have done the same with their other devices as well. After announcing the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S for 14,999 INR and 7,999 INR respectively, Xiaomi cut prices by 1,000 INR respectively at launch.
