Lenovo’s Golden Warrior range of phones currently includes the popular S8 and A8, and now for fans of phablets there is the all new Lenovo Golden Warrior Note 8.
As you can expect from the name the Note 8 is a larger screened device, but not an 8-inch model as some had speculated. The screen on the Lenovo Note 8 is a 6-inch panel, making it 0.5-inch larger than the Xiaomi Redmi Note it will be sharing shelf space with in China, and has the same 720p resolution too.
Lenovo have managed to team up with Mediatek and are offering the chip makers latest octacore 64bit processor, the MT6752 in the phone running at 1.7Ghz. The rest of the hardware includes 8GB internal memory, dual SIM, LTE, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front and Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Unfortunately Lenovo haven’t been very generous in the RAM department as the Note 8 has only 1GB. At least 2GB RAM would really have set this phablet off and made it a popular device, 1GB RAM is simply not enough in todays market in our opinion.
A final release date and price haven’t been made public but we believe the Lenovo Golden Warrior Note 8 will be on sale in time for the Chinese New Year priced at around 1200 Yuan.

You don’t need huge amounts of ram in 4.4. Lollipop is even better. Too bad for Lenovo they have good phones, good hardware but software support is a mess. You have to quick load up custom ROMS in their phones to be usable.
Actually 1GB of RAM & only 8 GB of storage are not enough (with ART) for comfortable work. Won’t even comment a display size.
1GB Ram depends on what you define as “comfortable work”. I use a tablet with 1GB of RAM (Nexus 7) and I have yet to run any problems with it.
That I can multitask with heavy apps, that my game’s don’t jump out often & that my benchmarks finish. To be able do that with your Nexus you would need to: use swap & enable memory overcommitting & to increase vmaloc limit (kernel dev only). I do have a device with 1GB of RAM. 🙂 Besides the additional GB don’t increase cost of device much & it really helps. One GB whose enough one year ago then Google introduced new analytic and developer’s framework with additional tendency of all apps using fancy costume graphic elements instead using ones in a framework so it’s not enough any more.
