Low cost Xiaomi tablet rumours flare up once more

xiaomi mi pad review

We would hardly say that the current Xiaomi Mi Pad was an expensive device, yet an even cheaper tablet is being rumoured and could arrive in early 2015.

Benchmarks, and TENAA network approvals have both pointed at the existence of a new Xiaomi tablet with a price that should be much cheaper than the current offering.

The current Xiaomi Mi Pad is a 7.85-inch mini tablet with Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and 2GB RAM, the rumoured new tablet will have a larger 9.2-inch 720p display, 1GB RAM and Snapdragon 410 SoC. What is interesting about the rumours is that the entry-level Xiaomi tablet would have access to LTE while the current Mi Pad only has WIFI.

So what price could Xiaomi be possibly aiming for with this Redmi Tablet? Sources in China believe the cost could be as low as 599 Yuan, or about $100!

Would a larger, LTE Xiaomi tablet appeal to you?

I think the specs are OK for the price. Some persons hardly ever use up all memory in a 1gb ram device.

Yes – but would prefer a higher res screen and more powerful SoC. Something like the Cube Talk 9x, but with LTE and a SoC of similar power to the Tegra K1 would be ideal.
