On the day of launching the OnePlus One in India, OPO talk about their plans for the OnePlus Two.
With availability in 18 countries, it’s first store open in Beijing and their partnership with Cyanogen in tatters, OnePlus have had ave very exciting first year.
With so much excitement around the Oppo backed phone brand it is obvious that many fans are asking about the 2nd generation OnePlus phone, the OnePlus Two.
Gizchina News of the week
At today’s India launch, BGR managed to get hold of the Director of OnePlus Global and ask when the next smartphone will be launched. The official word is the OnePlus Two will launch around 12 months after the first phone, so around Q2 or Q3 of 2015.
So far no feature details have been confirmed, but OnePlus have said that they have been listening to fans requests for a smaller display.
Our big question is if the OPT will be an all original phone or another rebranded Oppo?
5 inches to me is the ideal size. It’s a compromise between the people who want larger (5.5) and smaller (4.5). As we have seen with the sales of the new Iphone, people still prefer smaller phones when given the choice. The normal Iphone is outselling the Plus versions nearly 3 to 1.
The iPhone 6+ is has the same size screen as the OP1, but has ridiculously big bezels. To me, this seems like an unforgivable design flaw, yet they’re still selling 25% of the iPhones with it.
Additionally, since Apple was WAY behind in the screen size, moving to 4.7″ was a big step up. Nobody’s EVER tried stepping back n screen size on the Apple platform, so you’ve go no data to say if iPhone users would ever go from a larger to smaller screen.
Smaller screen? No need, learn from IUNI about bezels and softbuttons.
And that’s the reason they need to wait till Q2/Q3, till OPPO releases the next iteration from which the OnePlus company can borrow (shoddily) and continue to call it “never settle”!
You do realize One Plus is the same company as OPPO? They are owned by BBK which also owns Vivo.
