More Meizu news today in the form of their rumoured low-cost, entry-level models!
Starting off today was Meizu VP, Li Nan, who took to Weibo to tell fans not to expect a low-cost smartphone from his company for just 799 Yuan. 799 Yuan has been the cost that many believe Meizu will be aiming at as it is the cost of the Xiaomi Redmi 1s. Li Nan explained that Meizu wouldn’t make a phone so cheap as it would affect the overall quality of the materials and the build of the phone. Fair points, but the Meizu boss is also quoted as saying the MX4 Pro couldn’t cost only 2499 Yuan with 2K display ahead of the MX4 Pro launch.
Still if we take his words to be accurate this time around, they we are looking at a phone that will likely cost around 1000 Yuan once if goes official. Even at this price, the 64bit Meizu will still undercut much of the competition!
The next piece of news refers to an alleged new Logo for the low-cost “Blue Charm” range from Meizu. The designs above are purported to be for the Blue Charm range which could include a 4.6-inch ‘Mini’ phone as well as a 5.5-inch “Note” device.
We are still waiting to get the official word from Meizu about the two new phones, the pricing, and the logo. Chances are that Meizu will be keeping quiet until the very last moment!
