If you have been waiting patiently for your pre ordered UMi Zero to arrive then good news! Phones will begin shipping from next week.
UMi caught us all by surprise when they unveiled the UMi Zero, and in fact shocked a number of online resellers who decided to make up some lost time by offering pre-orders before phones were ready to ship!
Of course this has meant that many customers have been waiting for a few weeks now to get their hands on the “super body” alloy phone, and the good news is that on the 16th December stores will begin receiving their stock. It will depend on which company you ordered your UMi through as to how long it will take before the phone ships to customers, but if the are fast orders could be completed ahead of Christmas day!
The UMi Zero is an all alloy smartphone with 5-inch FHD, Super AMOLED display, 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel F1.8 aperture rear camera. You can read more about the phone in our UMi Zero review here.

The f1.8 is still to be proven, final version samples still don’t live up to high hopes.
I think it’s got good potential, maybe that sounds a bit harsh but what I mean is the actual Android 4.4 rom needs optimization in my opinion… There’s no smart wake gestures which I think are a pretty common thing these days and something I use a lot on my opo, no OTA update screen, only update from memory card file, I’ve found a couple of bugs in the rom too for example if you enable the smart gesture thing (where you wave your hand to navigate the gallery) the little red led sensor stays on permanently until reboot…
Apart from the software side of it though I think it’s really great! Really good battery life, lovely build quality, beautiful screen and generally a pretty good spec…
I just hope UMI devote a bit of time (and money) to some software revisions in the near future…
