Android 5.0 NOT shipping on Elephone P6000!

elephone p6000 specs

Yesterday we posted that the Elephone P6000, would ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop, however Elephone have been in touch to tell us that this isn’t the case.

If you head to the official Elephone P6000 product page you will see the below image, along with mention that the 64bit, LTE phone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop (there are even images of lollipops on the page too!).

Elephone say that we misunderstood the details though, and the phone will only receive Android 5.0 as an OTA update sometime “soon”. Heading in to the specifications page of the phone reveals that the P6000 has Android 4.4.4 out of the box.

So we would like to say sorry to you guys for getting the details wrong, but also take this chance to ask Elephone to make their product page more clear! Perhaps add a disclaimer under the images to explain that 5.0 will come as an update?

The Elephone P6000 will be one of the first quad-core MT6732 phones to ship, and gets a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel rear camera.

I already told them last week about the measures, but still not changed.
About Lollipop , it is written that is OTA.

Android lollipop on this is too soon anyway. Not even the usual “first to get latest android” phones had got them soon.

And also still with some bugs, now It’s on 5.0.1 because of that, and more updates can come , chinese companies not update regularly, and even high brands Don’t, so is better wait for a solid build of Lollipop.

Why would you buy this junk anyway? Might as well burn your money.

Some of us know what were talking about unlike you. While you waste your money on branded phones made china while going online telling people they are stupid for buying phones made in china we will be the ones saving money getting the same results for less.

Idiots like you are the ones going on xda to vent their anger at the buggy software or lack of updates from LG or samsung. Have fun burning your money.

Just because you’re on the Internet feeling safe behind your keyboard at home, doesn’t mean you have to behave like an asshole.

I was talking about the brand Elephone, not about Chinese brands in general. I think there are a few brands from China like Doogee and Elephone and some more that are far behind on quality in comparison to some other Chinese brands.

I’ve owned a Cubot a while ago, which was rubbish. Then a ZTE V987, a ZTE V5 Red Bull and this week I received a brand new Honor 6 Plus. All imported from China myself and bought an Android car radio from China.

        So, you were saying?

Make your point clearer then, if thats what you mean then say it. I would feel safe giving you my opinion face to face mr keyboard warrior i seriously doubt you could do anything to stop me and im not at home behind a keyboard im outside with a phone in my hand. The more you know.
