Mediatek’s 64bit processors are giving smaller phone makers a boost to help them tackle main phone makers, even if they are producing clones.
If you thought that knock off phones were limited to only international brands then you would be wrong. With Chinese phones quickly becoming some of the most sought after devices on the market, Chinese clones of Chinese phones are becoming more common. Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, Oppo and Meizu all suffer from cloning!
In the past clones were almost always lower end hardware with lower quality, but with hardware development catching up and prices continuing to drop, even some clones are looking like good value.
The Malata S520, seen above in these renders, might look like the Meizu MX4, or even the new Meilan (launching later this month), but in fact it is just a lone, a clone with a 64bit processor!
Malala will be using the quad-core MT6732 64bit chip from Mediatek to give their MX4-wannabe peppy performance and even LTE. There will also be dual SIM support, 13 mega-pixel with dual LED flash and classic Meizu home button.
Pricing isn’t announced but Malata will need to keep the price to around 500 Yuan to complete with the upcoming Blue Charm phone.
