A couple weeks back, Xiaomi introduced the one-handed mode for the Mi 3 and Mi 4 via an MIUI 6 update. The latest update (weekly) — MIUI 4.12.26 — brings another nifty feature to the phones: scheduled power on and off.
This means that owners of the device can now set a predefined time when the phone will turn off and on. Prior to the update, users could only use the alarm function to turn on the phone from off state. To access the feature, go to Security – Schedule power on/off and set the schedule as per your requirements. It’s kind of weird to have to go into the security menu for something like this, but that’s that.

You can also set days on which you want your schedule to work. This can be once, everyday, legal workdays (skip holiday), weekdays or custom.
READ: Xiaomi Mi 4 review
Xiaomi’s updates are starting to get better with each iteration now, and we’re very much looking forward to Redmi devices getting MIUI 6. The Mi 4 was announced back in July in China, and is expected to go official in some other markets including Indonesia and India in the coming months. The phone has a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 2.5Ghz CPU, 3GB of RAM and a 13 mega-pixel rear camera besides a 3080mAh non-removable battery.
I already have this update on my redmi note 4G,don’t power of my phone ever do, extremely happy with miui btw
I already have this feature on MX4 and I’m still on Flyme 4.0.4.1i!!! /teasing
I really like this feature… happy to see more companies use it in their phones. There is no reason to have the phone on, if you don’t expect any calls on it anyway.. battery-saving things = always a plus from me!
BREAKING NEWS!
Awesome Xiaomi/MIUI just got two basic functionalities which virtually every lowprice KitKat phone from China already has in its stock ROM for month!
Aw nuts, you beat me to joke about “Breaking” in a Yash Garg story.

Does anyone know if there is an installable APK for this particular feature? I’ve had this on my old China phone but not on the new phone (not available on android 4.3 or later). This feature is very handy & saves battery.
