Infocus, the mobile phone brand from Foxconn, are bringing a new MT6595 equipped phone to Taiwan and international phone markets.
Foxconn are the manufacturing giant behind the iPhone 6 and even make Meizu phones and since last year have dabbled in producing smartphones under their own brand name InFocus.
InFocus phones are generally sold in Taiwan, but like many brands the focus is shifting and they plan to release phones in more international markets throughout 2015.
The InFocus M530 is the latest to be added to the range as uses the same MT6595 chipset as the Lenovo Vibe X2 which runs at 2.0Ghz rather than 2.2Ghz in the Meizu MX4. There will also be 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and a 5.5-inch 720p display. Those specification by themselves would indicate a lower price tag for the Foxconn phone, but the addition of OIS (optical image stabilisation), NFC, Hotknot and a 3100mAh battery, the actual price might be higher than we would expect.
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the details include dual SIM support, dual tone LED flash, LTE, OTG and dimensions of 157 x 77 x 9.1mm. How much would you be willing to pay for the InFocus M530?
This remind the digital camera war between the manufacturers: Who will bring the highest megapixel, until people realized that more megapixels simply means more noise.
For a phone, a 1080p screen do nothing more than increasing the price and consuming more battery. For your eyes it is still the same, It is time for people to stop being so naive.
No. HD would be fine if the phone was a 4.5-inch or 4.7-inch device, but at 5.5-inches there’s going to pixelation for sure. Pixelation is a disgusting thing on any device.
1080p displays should be the standard for any smartphone above 5-inches. It’s a noticeable difference in terms of sharpness. You should stop acting like a senior citizen and accept facts.
I don’t see pixelation on my 15 inches laptop how the hell should I see it on a 5’5 phone?? Are you on drugs???
Marketing got you bad…. Really really really bad
please thesniper321 don’t blame Airyl !! just blame your eyes everyone with clear eyes can see those pixels and the difference in sharpness unless you are suffering from eye defect I really wonder how you carry on your sniper business with those eyes of yours
yeah right!! you’re not funny!
unless you mean you bring the device really closed to your eyes to see the pixelation instead of actually use it like it should….Don’t tell that’s what you talk about
That’s because you don’t hold your laptop a few inches away from your face. If you looked at it closer, you would probably see clear pixelation on the back button of your browser and how jagged most of the curved line are. That’s why I said 1080p should be the standard for SMARTPHONES above 5-inches.
And no, marketing hasn’t gotten me bad. I say what I can clearly see and what I see is that 720p is barely sufficient for smartphones with 5-inch displays and above.
Also, show me proof that 1080p displays suck more battery than 720p displays. I have with me the Redmi Note 2 and an Honor 6, and they both last for about as long as the other, same goes for my Xiaomi Mi3 and my Xshot.
Face it, your opinion is merely that, an opinion. You can try a tell everyone you’re right, but at the end of the day your only proof is that you “can’t see the difference on your laptop”, which has absolutely nothing to do with the matter on hand.
a laptop is not made to be used a FEW INCHES AWAY so are phones, only stupid people do that kind of USELESS bull, so they can brag about their phone having a big resolution, when you will be able to see the difference from normal distance call me,(unless your almost blind and need to glue your eye to the screen), also I already said you won’t notice any difference on phones if you don’t do the exact thing with a 1080p device and check it from a really close distance, plus if the source is optimize on both device and not downscaled or upscaled you will not notice any difference! But seriously who do that? until then 1080p or 720p is nothing but marketing and you just proved that with that silly comment.
Anyone can see the difference between a 5.5-inch Full HD and HD display. Until you accept that fact, you can stay in denial.
Problem is Android phones usually do not have enough performance to handle 1080p screens. 720p is usually much faster
That would’ve been a problem about 2 years ago. The MTK6595M processor is completely capable of running 1080p displays fluidly as shown with the recently released Lenovo Vibe X2. There would be practically no difference if a 720p display was used.
I will have to agree with Michael because the screen size is kinda big… if it was 4.5-4.7″ i wouldn’t mind the 720p. And the SoC obviously can keep up with 1080p.
Not really but will be better with 32GB. Like I wont consider purchasing a phone with only 16GB internal storage
I am an android man but my wife has an iphone 6 with ‘retina’ display the resolution is 750×1334 or to put it another way only just more than 720×1280 on this phone.
yes the screen is slightly larger on this phone but the spread of pixels is not that much more.
I have had several 720p and 1080p phones and to be honest the difference from the distance we tend to hold phones at is barely noticeable (unless you put right up to your eye and squint a bit), what is noticeable on 720p phones however is the increased battery life and speed when playing games or multi tasking.
The question should therefore be, do I want a battery and processor hogging display, that is a bit better to look at if you squint (and gives bragging rights over your mates 720p phone), or one that in the real world will out preform and last longer between charges?
