Earlier we posted a render and single photo of the iOcean M6752, but what we missed was the fact the phone has officially launched! Here are the full specifications for this flagship iOcean phone!
For 2015 iOcean have joined the likes of Meizu, JiaYu, Zopo and others by launching a powerful smartphone running on the latest 64bit MT6752 octacore processor from Mediatek.
Even if iOcean had simply added the MT6752 to one of their current phones, the chip would have brought enough enhancements to the device to make it a worthwhile upgrade, so to see an all new device with additional updates is a nice treat.
Starting with the processor, it runs at 1.7Ghz and is a more powerful 64bit processor with in-built Mali 760 MP2 GPU that runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box with the aid of 3GB RAM. Official specs even state that Android 5.0 Lollipop is in the works, but how long users will need to wait is not clear.
Displaying what that 64bit chip is processing is a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display which supports wet touch and can be accessed with gesture control and quick wake up options. Oddly the phone get’s on screen Android navigation while retaining a large lower ‘Chin’ bezel.
iOcean might argue that the ‘Chin’ area is where the 3G and 4G LTE antennas are kept, but with just a 2300mAh battery on board the 154.7 x 76.9 x 8.2mm phone we feel there could be plenty of space to reduce the size a fraction.

Speaking of LTE, the MT6752 in the iOcean allows for support for dual 4G SIMS, GSM, and 3G (GSM BAND2/3/5/8; TD-SCDMA BAND34/39; TDD-LTE BAND39/40/41; WCDMA BAND1/2/8; FDD BAND3/7/20). There is also space for a micro SD card should the 16GB of internal memory not suffice.
Hardware highlights continue with a 5 mega-pixel front camera and 14 mega-pixel rear camera which offers 1080 video recording and ‘PIP’ (Picture in Picture) technology that allows the front and rear cameras to be used at once.
Fast charging, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0 make up the rest of the hardware features which have the specs inline with the Zopo ZP920 and JiaYu S3 (bar OIS and battery size).
iOcean say they have built the iOcean MT6752 from plastic and magnesium alloy to give a lightweight body and to improve heat transfer away from the processor and cooling. Only actual usage of the phone will confirm if they got it right. Colour options include white, blue, yellow, red, and black.
iOcean haven’t posted pricing on their product specification page, but they have announced that pre-orders for the MT6752 will begin in a few days. Keep posted for more details.
