As promised earlier, the Nokia N1 tablet is now official in China. You won’t be able to take it home just yet, since it’s only on pre-order at the moment. It’ll be made available starting January 29th, which is just a little over three weeks from now.
With competition coming in from left, right and center, Nokia have done well to make a tablet that not only is decently powered, but also extremely well priced. According to Android Central‘s report, the tablet will be distributed by none other than Foxconn, a company which will also take care of the service support besides manufacturing the Nokia N1.
Gizchina News of the week
The tablet comes with a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display, something which Apple calls ‘Retina’. Other than that, there’s an Intel Atom Z3580 CPU on-board along with 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM and an 8 mega-pixel / 5 mega-pixel camera combo for the rear and front respectively. Nokia haven’t cut costs on the battery segment as well, which means that the N1 gets a massive-sounding 5300mAh unit. The device gets a 1599 CNY / US$256 price tag in China.
And here we ask again, will you pick the Nokia N1 over a proven beast such as the Xiaomi Mi Pad? The N1 not only promises a better build, but also faster software updates; for that matter, it comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop on-board, albeit with its Z Launcher on top.
