Xiaomi model number 2014910 makes its way through TENNA this morning equipped with a 2000mAh battery, perfect for a new slim phone.
Earlier today Chinese tech site MyDrivers, uncovered that Xiaomi are currently running a mystery smartphone through the TENAA documentation process. The testing is still on going, so we don’t have the usual images and specs but there are at least a few details.
First of all the phone in the TENAA listing has a battery size of just 2000mAh. In the current line-up of Xiaomi phones only the Redmi 1S has a phone with that size battery and it has been succeed by the Redmi 2 with larger 2200mAh cell. Chances are that a 2000mAh battery won’t be making it in to a flagship Xiaomi anytime soon too as both the previous Mi3 and current Mi4 have larger cells of over 3000mAh.
Gizchina News of the week
So what does this mean? Well yesterday we suggested that Xiaomi’s next phone, to be launched on the 15th, could be part of a new sub brand that is focussed on style and design rather than fire-breathing performance. The current purported specs of a Snapdragon 615, 2GB RAM and now 2000mAh battery make this new phone sound a lot like the ultra-thin Vivo X5 Max and Oppo R5.
Does this confirm that Xiaomi have a slim phone on the way? Not fully but at least we have more proof of the possibility, oh and we also know that at least the first launch batch will support only TD-LTE too (cringe).
Hope Xiaomi will avoid the useless hype of Size zero thinness phones with miniscule battery, which i m sure comprise only a tiny portion of the market and stick to making practical useful mobile phones, in which one prerequisite should be FULL 24 Hours Battery life in full usage.
