Launched: Zopo Focus ZP720 is an all new 64bit Zopo Mid-range phone

Don’t get the old Zopo ZP720 mixed up with the new Zopo Focus ZP720, it’s an all new beast with all new features and alloy/glass design.

This is the second time that Zopo have used the ZP720 name for a 4G LTE equipped phone, a mistake in our opinion as the new Focus ZP720 is an all together better phone in every possible way.

The new Zopo Focus ZP720 is the 2nd new phone from Zopo this year and another 64bit phone from the company. This time around they are using the quad-core MT6732 chipset in the Focus ZP720 which we have seen in our own benchmarks (here) is a very capable quad-core processor.

Running the MT6732 means dual SIM 4G LTE (in this case a micro and nano sim), Mali 760 GPU and once Lollipop is released for the phone a serious boost in performance and features.

Back to the phone itself, it is good to see that Zopo are not focussing on build quality and I have to say the ZP720 looks much better than the flagship ZP920. An alloy chassis runs exposed around the sides of the phone with glass front and rear to give a high-end look and feel. The 7.6mm phone looks very similar to the Huawei Honor 6, which is not bad at all.

External features continue with the implantation of an IR diode at the very top of the phone for controlling your TV, Air Conditioner ETC, a 13.2 mega-pixel Sony rear sensor with F2.0 aperture and sapphire lens, 5 mega-pixel F2.0 front camera with 87.3 degree wide-angle lens and a 5.5-inch 720p display.

Internally the Zopo Focus ZP720 has 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2330mAh battery. Looking over the specifications I wasn’t able to see if a micro SD expansion is available, but I don’t see a reason why not.

zopo focus zp720Looking over the design, specifications and features of the new Zopo Focus ZP720 I am quite impressed. It looks like a well made phone and with the IR blaster and camera specs could be a functional phone with a nice design.

1GB RAM and the smallish battery are our main concerns but we will have to get our hands on one to see just how well the phone runs.

As for price the Zopo Focus ZP720 is on sale now for $229 to international users from Zoposhop.com.

Ar Gearbest.com under presale. Use code UBFPROCN for discount and includes free rear cover. Good company, used several times, no issues.

You completely lost me at 1GB RAM, 2330mAh and $229. What the heck is Zopo thinking? We can buy the Elephone P7000 with much better specs for $200 and this $229? Even the Jiayu S3 with 3GB RAM is way better than this and retails at a better price point too.

    What a piece of crap!!!

    NEXT PLEASE!!!

@Andi : just curious to know. Lenova A858T has MKT6732 and it supports both FDD and TDD. Where as elephone p6000 and this zp720 both has the same MTK6732 and it supports only FDD….why is this so??? Can u or any1 here please clarify this. Thanks

It’s not like I’m going to buy it anyway, since it’s still running Kitkat I won’t buy anything running Kitkat / older, but it looks good, especially the glowing circle light. On a $200+ phone, they should put 2GB RAM at least.

These guys are bent on shutting down their company.. With all the bad reputation they still think they can sell phones at that price with those specs? Personally i’ve had really pad experiences with Zopo phones
