Mediatek’s 64bit processors are the talk of the town this year, with many exciting phone sporting the new hardware, but Mediatek are already looking further down the road.
So far Mediatek have released the MT6595, 64bit MT6732 and 64Bit MT6752, and those processors are already really exciting enough and have been seen in some impressive benchmarks.
While manufactures and customers get their hands on those current processors though, Mediatek are already working on their next hardware.
First up is the MT6795 chipset, which will basically take the amazing performance of the MT6595 (found in the Meizu MX4) and give it a 64bit boost. According to rumours earlier today the new Letv phone might get the MT6795, and according to the above roadmap the chip has 4 x A57 cores and 4 x A53 cores.
Gizchina News of the week
Later on the in 2015 we are gong to see a range of CDMA processors raining from quad-core to octacore, but it is the end of 2015 we will get the biggest surprise.
For Q4 Mediatek have the MT67XX chipset to launch. Full details are not known but we do know it is a 64bit processor with octacore architecture and LTE. It will also be Mediatek’s first 20nm processor to date and boast Cat 6 LTE!
This year is going to be a stellar year for Mediatek who hope to rise above Qualcomm.

daydreaming. implementation of Mtk chipsets on phones is so much slow…. Qualcomm just started mass production of 810 cpu and the first phones are already announced and will reach the shops very soon. Most Mtk based phones lack of many modern features such as MHL, infrared, nfc, image stabilizer, etc etc
Very Very funny … I really wonder which PLANET you came from … The PLANET OF APES? maybe you left for your planet 4 years ago and just returned to Earth. Mediatek of 3 years ago ain’t the same Mediatek today. Nowadays, Mediatek is really giving Qualcomm a good run for their monies. Qualcomm’s days of dominating the premium SoC market is long gone buddy.
Have you not seen all the MTK phones out there that come equipped with NFC, IR-Blaster, OIS and whatever it is you are blabbering about. Is this your very first time of visiting GizChina.com? Most likely this is your first time. Cos if you’ve been reading all the news and reviews been posted in here, you would never have opened that your dirty and stinking mouth to say the shit you don’t know.
Yes I admit that Mediatek might be a little slow in releasing some of their SoCs, but that does not make the Qualcomm counterparts any better. Check out the performance of the MT6752 completely smashing the Snapdragon 615 into the ground with a super close-line to the jaw.
Dude, Its very obvious that you are anti-Mediatek but do some honest research before you come here to talk your piece of crap.
Wow, hey people don’t you ever complain about chinese phone manufacturers or this guy will come and kill you right away.
I guess you need to chill about a bit boy, being so angry is not good for health.
Anyway, I have been noticing you are commenting pretty much every single entry of this site: not really much to do at home, right?
I dont comment about “PRETTY MUCH EVERY SINGLE ENTRY”. I only comment on those ones I feel important and when some nut cracker heads don’t wanna research but come and talk crap, it pisses me off. My line of work requires that I am online 24/7 and thats why I check out Gizchina a lot. Besides, I am an IT/Tech enthusiast. That pretty much explains everything to you.
Its not everyone out there that does the morning and evening shift work if thats what you do for a living.
This spec race is pretty pointless for Mediatek to gain market share. They need to focus on software kernel updates etc. Whilst they still continue to be closed source there ability to increase share will be limited.
If they used the ROM community to fix their hardware through ROM development (similar to what the Android TV Box market did) they would have better penetration now and a more solid product. All doing what they prefer and that is not spending so much on software development. Poor performing GPS, software incompatibility etc with no upgrades is what kills them.
Not the difference in playing Riptide GP2 at 60 fps instead of 53 fps. They have a chance to learn from the Android 1 program.
It takes at least 3 months to manufacture microchips and add in a few more weeks if the company need to do some respins. If qualcomm just started mass production we probably won’t see a phone for a couple more months yet. Yeah xiaomi just announced the mi note pro but no, you can’t speed up chip production there is currently a brickwall of 3 months to produce chip. That’s why after a new soc from mediatek or qualcomm is announced and shown to the media no phone would be available for months. The 6595 was announced like 6 months before a phone with it inside came out because they had low yields and had to do a respin.
See the result of S810 benchmarks on LG GFlex 2…it seems that rumors about overheating are not wrong…hope they will fix the problem
I have NFC on a Mediatek device, MHL and image stabilizer are possible (no idea about Infrared)
Mt6595 has Slow Motion 480fps, h265 decoder/encoder when S801 has none, S805 oly decoder
Compare mt6752 and S615 in real life :

Go Mediatek Go … haha … some Qualcomm fan boys are already whining cos Big Daddy Qualcomm is being beaten by Mediatek.
Whooohoooo!!!
Did you look at the image? mediatek 20nm soc will come next year.. 2016.. Qualcomm already have 20nm soc this year. Mediatek is really behind. By the time mediatek release this 20nm soc, Qualcomm will have 16nm.
Both Qualcomm ans mediatek ask tsmc to build their soc.
S810 seems to overheat despite 20nm process…weak benchmarks results on LG gflex 2 have been see (singlecore geekbench on 2.0ghz A57 lower than 1690mhz A53, adreno 430 under 330???)
We know that NVIDIA 20nm GPU are delayed…tsmc build them too.
Both mediatek and tsmc are taiwaneese…mediatek get 20nm if they want to. Maybe they play it safe with 28nm.
Don’t forget that mediatek sell hmp octacores chip since one year. Current qualcomm’s octacore isn’t hmp!
Mediatek’s corepilot technology is usefull
I know s810 have heat issue but atleast they have a 20nm soc now and mediatek just a chart. Even Adreno330 in s800 and s801 is much better than PowerVR G6200 found in MT6595. Mediatek true octacore is just a marketing gimmick. Compare mt6592 and s800.. Almost same antutu score but in real usage its not. Mt6592 consume more power than s800 when 8 core processor is active.. Who needs octacore processor when you can have better performance and low power consumption at quadcore… Unless its a big.Little octacore.
20nm is to have better perfs and better consumption.
Currently s810 haven’t
Consumption can’t match with overheating
Perfs geekbench 3 LG gflex 2 : 750/3500
Perfs meizu m1 810/4200
It means that a single cortex A57 at 2.0ghz can’t reach a single cortex A53 at 1690Mhz? That’s not normal!
Mt6595 cortex A17 reach 1100pts singlecore score…
Exynos 5433 is over 1200pts with cortex A57 : 1200 vs 750, what a gap! We can’t talk about optimisation!
Easy to do better than adreno 330…you get powervr6430 instead of 6200.
But then the soc cost the same price as s800 and you won’t sell anyone.
OK you compare s800 with mt6592…45dollars with 15dollars per unit? High-end with mid-range.
Compare both was marketing! 8cores wasn’t.
Mt6592 is a cheap (8 cortex A7 implementation cost less than only 2 Krait or cortex A17) soc made to run Android on fullhd screen, nothing more…
Without 4g, high-end soc can’t be sold!
8cores…with 4big and 4little, consumption is the main goal
With only little cortex A7 (as mt6592) or A53, suppress the “in-order” weakness that mat cause stuterring and improve multitasking (you know the difference between “in-order” and “out-of-order” CPU?)
Instead of making high-end, Hard work on hmp, hevc decode, 4g…now mediatek is better on these features except 4g
Mediatek mt5595 (modified 6595) will be used un Sony Android TV.devices this year
Mt6732 is now far better than s410…and use tsmc 28nm hkmg process instead of cheap SiON process. Heard that Sony will release 4 or 5 mt6732 devices
Mt6752 is better than s615…hkmg vs SiON too and hmp coreschedulling… see a cpu-z screen capture
See the video link I post up on this thread…S615 is ridiculous. The “s” (mean better like on iphone or xiaomi?) version of HTC 820 is now mediatek, not qualcomm
I think on high-end, s810 (if it work properly) will still be better than mt6795 on gpu (not cpu) and 4g rate…now we can’t say anything about these two : no real-life tests. 20nm vs better coreschedulling, i’m not sure about the results.
Still Quallcomm is ahead. S810 is out now even have heat issue i think they can fix that very soon. Not all mt6592 phone is cheaper than s800 phone even though its a cheaper soc. My point is why you need an octacore (unless its a big.little) when you can have better performance and lower power consumption in quadcore. MT6592 doesnt have Big.little tech in it so its consume more power. Big.little have quadcore little core not octacore like the mt6592.
Sent from my Mt6589 phone :p
simple : when you need a good dualsim support…because you have a job and a private life : 2 numbers, one device!
even if it hasn’t “big” cores, 1year old mt6592 use Heterogeneous multiprocessing (=ability to use each core with a different frequency and even to use 1 single A7 when the OS doesn’t need more)
you think that 1 cortex A7 drain more energy than 1 krait? that’s a joke!
now s615 isn’t able to use HMP
now if you want, give me javascript result with your krait cores (with frequency…sunspider, mozilla kraken octane) ? I will give some cortex A17! I will show you some of Qualcomm’s weakness. Some use smartphones on internet, we’re not all hardcore gamers
cortex A17, only 1,8Ghz (rk3288 tv box) :
– sunspider 0.9.1 : 688ms (the lower, the better)
– mozilla kraken : 5646ms (the lower, the better)
– google octane 2.0 : 5864pts (the higher, the better)
I’m waiting for S800/801 even perhaps S805 results
krait aren’t the top cpu…
cortex A17 are better, but drains more energy…coupling with energy efficient cortex A7 you will get the best of the two worlds.
Octacore hmp has lower power consumption in real use than quad krait…that’s not the case with exynos 5410 because he wasn’t hmp, he does cluster migration
