Chinese tablets still might not be as popular as Android phones, but at least we are seeing companies move with the times and bring more functionality to the table, such as dual-boot on the Onda V919.
Android is a great operating system, I think we can all agree on that, but there are sometimes that a full desktop OS is preferable, either due to the program you want to use or from a productivity point of view. In those times it would be perfect to be able to switch from one system to the next.
Well that’s what the Onda V919 tablet offers with and Android 4.4 Kitkat system for data consumption and Windows 8.1 for getting the daily office work cleared away.
Gizchina News of the week
The tablet features a 9.7-inch display and a design not unlike the iPad Air with narrower bezels to the left and right of the screen than those above and below.
Intel provide the quad-core 2.16Ghz processor, there is 2GB RAM, 64GB internal memory and space for a 128Gb SD card, more than generous enough for a portable work station. Dual cameras are present and accounted for as is 3G network support and a 7000mAh battery.
Pricing for the Onda V919 3G Air is just $241.94, and it can be ordered internationally through Gearbest.com.
So this or the Teclast X98, both look similar in spec with the Teclast having a larger battery and this having more storage
Teclast got lots of trouble with their software..
-Broken playstore on all devices
-slow dual boot bios ( you have to turn the device on/off everytime)
-poor android performance
-GPU Problem with some devices (no 3D games playable)
only thing I will miss is the HDMI port and the larger battery but I decided to wait for the onda and can’t wait for it
Dual-boot sounds great, and seems to be popular these days 🙂 I can’t wait for a complete review of this one, with a particular attention on how you swap from one world to another 🙂
Anyone? Andi? Yash? 😀
Yash is trying to get one from seller~~
Good to know 😉
Swaping the operating environment is really easy. On android, there is a special button on setting notification bar. Once pressed, it turns off and starts the windows. On Windows, there is a pinned icon shortcut on the taskbar. It is really amazing to see how good both of these OS runs on this. I own one and I really like it.
2G/16G version of Onda V919 is still a good choice with much lower price, $182.99 at coolicool.com http://www.coolicool.com/onda-v919-3g-air-2g-ram-mtk8392-octa-core-97-inch-retina-ips-screen-android-tablet-g-35640
thats the bad version with a lame processor and no windows 8.1… no GPU etc. certainly worth the extra $30 to upgrade
Still waiting on mine… its taking forever.
