Huawei’s momentum shows now sign of slowing with news that the much anticipated Huawei P8 could be released in early April.
Huawei are looking to shake up their flagship Ascend line, first of all by dropping the “Ascend” branding, and then launching a top-of-the-range model to carry the brand in to 2015.
The simply named Huawei P8 will be the replacement to the P7, and from sources close to the company might be a 5.2-inch phone with 1920 x 1080 display. A FHD panel on a flagship phone might sound a little last generation, but upping the resolution to 2K would be deemed pointless on such a compact display.

That seems to be the only firm detail in the rumours so far, but there is a possibility that two version of the P8 might be released. The base Huawei P8 would have a Kirin 930 chip with 3GB RAM while the high-end P8 (Pro?) will get a Kirin 950 with 4GB RAM.
Initial rumours were that Huawei would release the phone at MWC but new details suggest an April 8th release date.

There are lots of rumours about the Huawei P8 .
But no news on it CPU Power , GPU ,not even the camera .
All the top brands are now moving towards 20 MP camera .
So, if Huawei uses a 13 MP unit . It will be a big disappointment . IMX214 has become a common unit.
It’s not high end anymore .
Apparently that’s not even going to be its flagship model, that award will go to the D8 which may follow shortly after.
I am not sure about D8 .
Huawei CEO just said in is weibo account that 2K display is foolishness .
But rumour says D8 will have 2K display .
I have a feeling the D8 is going to be a “plus” version of the P8 as so many companies are doing today. I don’t expect to see a 2K display on it as Huawei has made several comments about their distaste for 2k displays.
Actually only Sony is using 20 MP, everyone else is focusing on better optics like Smasung with Isocell , Apple with Dual pixels and Lg with OIS+,
a 13 Mp camera with OIS ,bigger lens and fast focus, would produce much better photos than a crippled 20 MP sensor with bad optics , so it’s more than just Megapixels.
But rumours are saying Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC one M9 will have 20 MP cameras .
So, if Huawei doesn’t do anything they will lose ground .
And Huawei never used OIS in their cameras .
Moreover in an report I heard that Kirin 930 will have 2.6 GHz clock speed and hope it will be right .
No leaks yet about the camera .
Too much is made of MP at this point it is nothing more than marketing. I can point to several cheaper phones with 13mp shooters that take worse pictures than phones with 5-8mp shooters. I would much rather see them all start to use better sensors and lower aperture.
