Are you one of the savvy buyer who picked up the Coolpad F1 or F2? If so you have some great Lollipop news on the way but you have a long wait.
Coolpad have released a time schedule for the release of their next Android update, which will see the device updated to Coolui 6.0.
The first updates will roll out in February for the F1 and F2 and will bring Coolui 6.0 based on Android 4.4 Kitkat. Not all the versions will get the Kitkat update, but they will all get Android 5.0 Lollipop eventually.

Looking over the update release we see that all versions of the Coolpad F1 and F2 with the first Lollipop roll out in March, however some owners will need to wait until July before they see the current version of Android on their phones.

Nice to see a Chinese manufacturer actually showing ‘willing’ and updating their devices. I think ROM updates are the final piece of the puzzle for China phones to make them more appealing, and although it will be a long wait for some at least it is coming!
I agree. Now that some manufacturers are readily updating their devices, the phone wars are only going to get more exciting.
