Costing just $100 and available to markets in both Asia and Europe from February, Elephone have big hopes for the Elephone G2.

Just in this morning are the first real photos of the budget friendly Elephone G2, along with pricing, partial specifications and availability.

The Elephone G2 is squarely aimed at the same customer base who is already considering the Meizu m1 or Xiaomi Redmi 2, however they hope to gain a big advantage by offering their 64bit phone for just $100 in Asia and Europe.

Gizchina News of the week

At that price point, I cant get my hopes high. Most likely gonna ship with 1GB RAM and not more than 8GB ROM. Besides, I’d rather go for a 5.5″ to 6″ device.

Can I ask you what do you expect to get for $100 ? Also, phone size is just perfect for that price point.

      “At that price point”

You are making it sound like it is a $500 device. I wouldn’t expect anyone to have high hopes for a $100 phone. It is the extremely low end of the market. The price of the components will pretty much match whatever they sell it for. But if you want a really good phone for that price range I highly recommend the Doogee DG Turbo 2014. I have been using one for 2 months now and have never had any issues. It is a 5 inch 720p with 1 GB of RAM and it runs nearly stock 4.4. It has a very thin and good looking (6.5 mm) metal frame. The build quality is fantastic and it really is a great phone for the price. It doesn’t come close spec wise to my Mi4, but I find myself grabbing this for long business trips.

At least you have a lot to choose for…this is one of few phones that it’s not to big for rest of us. But atbthis price point, as you have said, you can’t get your hopes high…but for little bit more there is a lot really good phones (meizu m1 first on my mind).

and I guess this spec will go for 599y and that will be stronger 2GB model for 100-200y more. At least, I expect that by what other brands are doing.

This is another unfinished product from elephone! Just go and look on their forum for complaints of users and they do nothing to fix that! I am buy p10 and gps don’t work from first day and battery indicator too, and that is not only to me,every buyer have the same issues, and all of as asking when they think to fix that, and do you know what is their answer, they was just ignore that questions. I want to warn people who thinking about buying they product to think twice before it’s been too late!
I’m sure will never ever buy anything from them, sometimes is better pay little more for the right thing!

Will this phone actually release or it is another teaser from Elephone that never amounts to anything. Still waiting for the P4000 (Mi 4 Clone) to be released. That was announced back in August and both of it’s sister phones have already come out (Doogee, No. 1).

4.5 Inch meaning that it will be qHD res with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM, perhaps 8mp Rear and 2mp front cameras. Paired with the 6732 this could make a killer phone for $99. I’d fancy getting one for my GF, she don’t like the big displays, so it would be perfect. I just wished that Jiayu would come up with a device at a similar price point, would much more trust their built than Elephone’s.
