JiaYu S3 MT6752 64bit Benchmarks

jiayu s3 hero

One of the big draws of the JiaYu S3 is it’s octacore, 64bit MT6752 processor. How does this new mid-range chip perform and is it the powerhouse we had been hoping? Find out with our JiaYu S3 MT6732 benchmarks.

Mediatek really have Qualcomm on the ropes this year, where as the current range of Snapdragon chips are less than underwhelming, Mediatek are taking the phone world by storm. As usual Chinese phone makers have been the first to take advantage of Mediatek’s new hardware to make their already great hardware even more powerful than before.

Luckily we received the JiaYu S3 smartphone earlier which boasts a 64bit MT6752 chipset. This is an octacore chipset running at 1.7Ghz and a Mali-T760 GPU. The version of the JiaYu S3 that we have on test is the 2GB RAM version running Android 4.4.4 Kitkat ans like all S3 versions has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display.

As this is the first MT6752 phone I have had chance to really play around with I ran a host of benchmark applications to give the JiaYu S3 and the MT6752 processor a through test. Below are the results:

Gizchina News of the week

JiaYu S3 Benchmarks Screenshots

In addition to these test I also tested the GPS and managed a lock on time of under a minute which isn’t quite as good as the Elephone P6000 we tested a short while back (with MT6732 processor).

As you can see we have got some pretty good scores from the JiaYu S3 and the MT6752 chipset itself, of course real world testing is the only real measure of how well a phone performs and I intend to write up a full and complete review.

Keep posting to GizChina for more benchmarks, reviews and news.

This phone seems to be the one everyone is waiting for 2015. It would be nice if you let us know how the GPS perform, meaning accuracy. One minute lock is acceptable as long as it’s accurate once you are driving.
Thanks for the review anyway, so far the best reviews around the web

I wasn’t rushing you, take your time.
If the GPS is accurate then this mid-range mediatek could steal some customers from high-range Qualcomm.

Also test the call quality of the phone and the speakers. Some Chinese users have complaints about these matters.

For example, in a noisy environment, a Chinese user have said that is very difficult to hear each other voices.

How is that possible? What have they done wrong?

GPS is not that related to the cpu, if it has glonass it should fix in a second and dont loss connection during driving a car.
jiayu must have done something wrong, maybe the antenna.

too bad, i have been waiting to buy this phone.

If you check out the Jiayu forums they say the lock is very strong. Even seen some photos of having a lock indoor.

Seems like Jiayu will need to optimize the ROM a little. The 3DMark score is too low in my opinion. My Cube T7 does reach 10,448 in the Ice Storm Unlimited test at slightly higher resolution.

      January 28, 2015

Yeah they need, also for the camera quality. But, if they don’t, I guess soon we gonna have good customs roma for S3.

        January 28, 2015

Simon, the phone is rooted out the box, just have to activate superuser on settings. I would say, the first thing to do now is port a proper recovery for it, like Philz Touch or Carliv 🙂

          • Simon
            January 28, 2015

Oh wow really thats cool. How about TWRP ?

i’d quite like custom kernels like Franco, Elemental X to go alongside some roms: CM12, LiquidSmooth, Euphoria (formerly Mahdi).

            • Marco Lancaster
              January 28, 2015

TWRP also is a good option too!
Jiayu phones also got great support and custom roms and even custom kernels, you can check on needroom, there’s a lot of roms for Jiayu phones, and judging the Jiayu S3 will be a sucess of sellings, we can wait the better of development for it!
