Zopo ZP530 coming with 64bit processor and curved display

Zopo will release their new Zopo ZP530 with a quad-core 64bit processor and 5-inch 2.5D display, but a few elements of the phone prevent it from being as good as it could.

The 64bit revolution has brought with it some great phones and wonderful enhancements, but some manufacturers insist on odd specification choices that damage an otherwise good-looking phone.

Zopo have again shown a new smartphone, and on the surface it looks like a stunner. It has an elegant 2.5D curved display, quad-core 64bit processor, LTE, dual SIM and micro SD. Dig a little further though and cracks in the specification appear including just 1GB RAM and a tiny 2100mAh battery!

It’s a shame that Zopo have again done so much right with a phone only to get key ingredients totally wrong. With 2GB RAM and a larger battery the ZP530 would have been an exciting alternative to the Xiaomi Redmi 2.

The way they’re pumping these mediocre devices out I’d say that they’ve forgotten about their current ‘flagship device’ the ZP999/3X as my better half has one and she hasn’t had an OTA for quite some time now and the battery drain when NOT on Airplane Mode is absolutely diabolical…

  Last OTA was less then a month ago… And about the battery, mine lasts about 2 days with medium usage. Would hardly describe that as diabolical.

    That’s a crock of cr@p and you know it! I have a OnePlus One with a 3100mAh battery that really does last 2 days with usage, she does nothing on it other than browse the web, the battery stats show nothing special and Battery doctor can’t flag anything up either, we’ve found that in the last few days if she has Airplane Mode on all day she’ll get 24hr usage out of it on wifi but it really is a disappointment…
    I’ve ordered another battery for it just in case it’s that but I doubt it as I’ve read all over the web how bad the battery life is with other people…
    With regards to the OTAs, yes you’re right, the last one was on the 16th of Jan and around Christmas there was about 4 or 5 OTAs within a few days and now nothing… I doubt there will be any significant update now if it’s anything like the zp998 update pattern was… And there’s never any info with the OTAs other than “Bug fixes and improvements”…
    I wish I had spent £200 on something else tbh…

There is a difference between curved cover glass and curved display…..
Ofc 2.5D glass is not even actually curved,it’s just thinner on one side at the edges.The back of the Xiaomi Note is curved glass, 2.5D is not.
And nobody actually cares about the moronically named 2.5D glass , lots of phones have been using that for a long time now, just because Apple has started to use it, it doesn’t make it a relevant feature.

Had 2 Zopo phones in the past. Never again. At least until they actually start supporting their phones with updates and critical bug fixes.

  I am waiting for another Leagoo phone. The Lead 1 is amazing, looks very expensive and has quality components. It would be interesting to see which current Chinese brands actually value quality.

    Leagoo needs to expand more and be more concessional for international costumers. Also , it desperately needs to release a budget phone with FHD , 64 bit Quad Core , 16 mp/8mp (TRUE PIXELS) , LTE and 2gb RAM to kill off all competition!
