Lenovo release update roadmap for a handful of their phones.
We often have to wait quite a while to get the latest version of Android on our phones, so it is always nice when a manufacturer gives is a date to look forward too.
This past week we have seen Elephone and Ulefone show off their Android 5 updates in video, and not Lenovo have published a timetable for their Lollipop updates.
Gizchina News of the week
So if you are the owner of a Lenovo A5000, Lenovo A6000, P70-A, Lenovo Vibe X2, Vibe Z2 or Vibe Z2 Pro, you can expect Android Lollipop to arrive on your phones in Q2 of this year.
We assume the update will come to devices OTA, but will try to update the news around the time of launch to confirm the dates and details.

Lenovo lost all my credit after not updating their 2013 flagship, the K900, to KitKat. If Asus can update their Zenfone with Intel so can Lenovo.
This is a joke? 🙂 I see that all of those Android devices manufacturers learnt COMPLETELY NOTHING. Sorry but even when I’m not the Microsoft fan and I use Linux for everyday I would buy some Microsoft Lumia device because of its extremely strong support not only about system upgrade (forget about it on Android device!) but especially about bug and security fixes. Let me remind you about WebView JavaScript security vulnerability on Android. Such serious issue and the only solution prepared by Google is: ‘Update to Lollipop or buy a new device if you can’t.’. Great solution, really!
They would have been better off saying nothing and just releasing the updates when they’re ready and surprising their customers. Now if they don’t deliver the goods their customers are going to turn into a pack of stray dogs with a thirst for blood.
Under promise, over deliver and you’ll always have happy customers.
