The octacore Mediatek MT6795 is a powerful piece of kit that’s for sure, but along with blazing performance it also packs a neat super slow motion feature.
Mediatek are shaping up to be the victors of 2015 and the MT6795 processor will be part of the reason they do so well. The chipset offers all the hot features (octacore, LTE, 64bit) that we expect from a flagship processor along with some great camera features.
One feature that Mediatek are especially excited about is the ability to record super slow motion video. Currently slow motion 120fps video can only be captured at 720p, but the latest Mediatek chip manages a whopping 480fps at 1080p!
Gizchina News of the week
The video below gives us a small taster of what we can expect from the video features on up coming MT6795 phones, we cannot wait to try one out!

Looking forward making funny vids with that
Nice stuff. Any idea when we will see it in the market?
Not many phones used the 6595 chip I’m guessing the new chip is a failure too.
I am wondering why nobody is using the 6595. Big.little architecture sounds good on the paper at least. People report that the battery consumtion of the Zopo phone is terrible though.
Depend on when they will release this. If they release it after most MT6752 launched and close to Cortex A72-equipped phone’s launch then they only have themselves to blame.
I guess MT6595 isn’t cheap enough for the target market. Because it uses 4 large cores. Or if it had more powerful GPU let’s say 4 cluster instead of 2 it would attract even some non-Chinese brands.
Seems like MT6795 already delayed 2 months, but if it is an octacore A53 could be cheaper than MT6595, actually it’s price could be closer to MT6752. So despite being a bit slower than MT6595 it could be more successful than it’s predecessor.
it’s not that much used because 64bit SoC’s were launched just after a couple of months by Mediatek itself, so everyone wanted to use them (as they also cost less), the 6595 is a pretty nice SoC but was killed by mediatek itself because of poor timing strategies (just like the almost unused exacore mt6591), but it seems the 6795 will have much more luck, since it’s the only high end SoC from Mediatek until Q4 at least.
I think that the MT6595 in fact is a “second tire” SoC to be the flagship performance-wise until the MT6795 will be out and take over, As I see it MediaTek knew that they will need some time for the MT6795 so they chose to announce a “demo version” (Same GPU different clock speed) instead of waiting and make potential customers loose interest.
Just like Nvidia did when right before the Tegra K1 born, They took a basically tad-improved Tegra 4 CPU unit and combined it with a Kepler GPU and we’ve got the Tegra K1 32 Bit version.
6595 is the most powerfull 32bit SoC now, but it’s not used coz it’s not 64bit. Just marketing reasons
