It’s raining MT6752 phones! We just reviewed the awesome and powerful JiaYu S3 some days back, and we already have a couple more MT6752 phones in the office: the iOcean Rock and the Siswoo Cooper i7. The former is a phone that you probably might have heard of before, but the Cooper i7 most likely would’ve come to you as a surprise.
The Cooper i7 is one of Siswoo’s first two phones, the other being the more powerful Monster R8. The Cooper i7 that we have here comes with the same 64-bit, octa-core MT6752 processor as the iOcean Rock and the JiaYu S3, but features a smaller 5-inch screen that makes it one of the first 5-inch MT6752 phones.
Siswoo Cooper i7 Specifications
Unlike the iOcean Rock, the Cooper i7 packs only 2GB of RAM. Design language is quite similar also, but the Siswoo has a lot of Meizu in it as well. Lets take a look at the complete specifications of the phone:
- 5-inch 1280 x 720p display
- 1.5GHz octa-core MT6752 64-bit processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB on-board storage, expandable
- 8 mega-pixel rear camera
- 5 mega-pixel front camera
- 2100mAh battery
- 4G LTE support
- Dual SIM
- Android v4.4 KitKat
Siswoo Cooper i7 Unboxing Video
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm43RqYNjAY]As you can see from the video, the phone is quite pleasing on the eye with the sleek Meizu MX4-esque design and of course, the glowing halo (that seems to be getting really popular in China). In fact, if anything, the Cooper i7 looks like a 2nd or 3rd generation iPod Touch to the unassuming.

Siswoo Cooper i7 First Impressions
The phone is extremely comfortable to hold in the hand, more so than the Xiaomi Mi 4 with its sharp-ish edges. The 5-inch screen size means that the phone is easily usable in one hand also. The phone also supports double tap to wake and other gesture actions that come in very handy when you’re using the phone with just one hand.
Overall build quality seems pretty impressive for a new manufacturer. The phone will certainly find many a competitor in the coming weeks, but it has a head-start in the market with the smaller than average size and perhaps a better than average build.
