Gionee might be concentrating on newer slim phones, but that doesn’t mean they are neglecting other models, some of which have just received major updates.
All eyes are on Gionee for their Elife S7 launch at MWC, but owners of current devices can be happy too as a new OTA update brings some major improvements.
The Gionee Marathon M2 and Pioneer P6, two phones which are popular in India, have received an recent OTA update which fixes many bugs users had complained about along with some new UI touches.
The ROM change log for both Gionee models can be seen below:

Gionee Marathon M2:

- Now you can change the system font: 3 pre-installed with the ability to download new ones;
- Reply and ignores the right calls with the new UI dialer currently receiving a phone call;

- Fixed problems related to notifications WhatsApp;

Gionee Pioneer P6:

- Improved the quality of the photos;
- Updated music player;
- Added a new theme: Find sea;
- Added the function that allows you to hide the functions of the app;
- Added Notification Management System;
- Adding the “one key” on the lockscreen;
It seems that the phones are still running on an older Android builder though, and as of yet a Lollipop update hasn’t been announced, but at least updates are still rolling out.
