It appears as though the higher-end (compared to the Redmi 1S/Redmi Note) Xiaomi Mi 4 isn’t doing too well on the Indian market, or Xiaomi just want to please buyers, for the phone (in its 16GB avatar) is now available invite free in India.
The device is priced 19,999 INR, or roughly US$325. On the other hand, competitive Chinese phone OnePlus One was just announced for 18,999 INR (US$308) to give the Mi 4 some competition. As always, the device will be available through Xiaomi’s one and only channel in India (besides Airtel stores for the Redmi Note), Flipkart.
It comes with a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by the qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, has 3GB of RAM, a 13 mega-pixel main camera, 8 mega-pixel front camera and a 3080mAh non-removable battery. Xiaomi also sells wooden rear covers for the device, which however haven’t appeared anywhere outside the Chinese market yet.
