Siswoo are a new brand for 2015, but are already gaining a lot of interested with new phones including the upcoming Siswoo Monster R8.

Siswoo have already released their i7, a phone which looks like the Meizu MX4, and are gaining quite a lot of attention as it boasts good build and surprising performance. Their next device, named the Siswoo Monster R8, hopes to build on that with a more powerful MT6595 chipset and 3GB RAM.

The MT6595 is the same chipset that is found in the Meizu MX4, and while it isn’t a 64bit processor, it is one of the most powerful Mediatek chipsets available today and includes some features that improve speed and performance that other MTK SoC’s lack.

Gizchina News of the week

Siswoo, say that the Siswoo Monster R8 will sport this powerful octacore chipset along with 3GB RAM and LTE support. In addition to the powerful chipset a 5.5-inch 1080 display, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear and 3350mAh battery will all be part of the package.

Pricing for the Siswoo Monster R8 is rumoured to be just $299 once it launches later this year.

    Hey guys,

I need some help. I have been tasked with getting a phone for my partners elderly mother. (She is 75) I am looking for the best option in the $200 to $300 range. Requirements are decent battery, preferably 6 inch plus screen, could go 5.5 inch but that minimum. Something easy to navigate and a joy to use straight out of the box.

Please give me a few suggestions for i am all at sea, all at sea

    Thanks

    Xxxxx BGW

Hi, I recently bought the Pipo T8. I bought it as a temporary phone (I was worried about the size) until I found a phone that I really wanted. I have to say that the 6.44″ FHD screen is beautiful, the camera is the best I’ve seen on a Chinese device and the battery lasts me around 50 hours with moderate use and 30 hours with heavy use. I just put my SIM card in and it done everything itself, I was up and running in less than 5 minutes! It has surprised me with its build quallity (it fell around 6′ straight onto the screen last week and survived with not even a scratch)! Its got an octacore cpu, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM and only cost me $180 delivered to the UK.

Not saying its perfect however, it can occasionally have a little lag (only around 1 second) when opening some applications but in general is a phone I wouldn’t hesitate buying again. Out of the 8+ Chinese phones I’ve bought, it has just about the best screen, the best camera by quite a margin and excellent battery life (even with all energy saving modes turned off).

      Good luck in your search.

      Rob.

Xiaomi Redmi Note, it has 5.5″ screen and easy mode / elder mode launcher.

I’d go with Xiaomi Redmi Note (not to be confused with Mi Note, which is also a good phone) you can find it for under $200 and it is an excellent phone that is easy to use straight out of the box.

It doesn’t support 800MHz which might be a problem for UK 4g connectivity if that’s where BGW hopes to use it

On paper it sounds like a great flagship phone. But I have a hard time paying $300 (even more for international buyers) for a phone from a company with no track record. Plus its is very bland and generic looking. For that money I will stick with Meizu, Xiaomi and Huawei.
