Got a Gionee Elife E7? Kitkat confirmed soon

It might seem a little ridiculous to be talking about Kitkat updates while everyone moves on to Lollipop, but that’s what owners of the Flagship Gionee Elife E7 can look forward too.

The Gionee Elife E7 is a phone with amazing hardware which has always struggled with poor OS. The phone run’s Gionee’s own Amigo OS based on Android 4.3, which is a buggy mess, but an update is coming in March that might make everything a lot better.

Gizchina News of the week

Gionee have confirmed that a new version of Amigo will be released for their current flagship based on Android 4.4 Kitkat, and hopefully this will run a lot better. We also hope to see Lollipop at some point in the future.

The Gionee Elife E7 recently received a price drop making the phone cost below $200, pretty amazing for a Snapdragon 800 phone with 16 mega-pixel main camera.

Lol what Shame, with Lollipop out, you think users will be satisfied with this very very late update?

Indeed. But still unrespectfull a expensive phone, with high-end specs, and the open sources from the manufactures of SoC, still not providing uptades.

How is it disrespectful for them to update a device? It may not be the update you want but they are still updating it. They could be like many other Chinese brands and just release products and forget about them.

Great phone, brilliant camera, BUT the check for update feature on mine causes a system closure everytime. I presume/hope an OTA update won’t require that function?

only 2500mah battery + shit OS
I would go for Meizu m1 note, it has better battery(3100mah), processor(40k on antutu and x64) and OS.
The camera and 1gb more ram are not so important to me.

Why would anyone need a better camera and more ram when you have 40k Antutu???? LOL
Suddenly Antutu points became a feature to list on phone specs.

        feature ?
Antutu is just a decent way of measuring processing power, thats it.

An extra 1GB of RAM means a lot more than an antutu score or the fact that it is 64 bit in terms of the overall performance of the phone.

You shure? The android itself takes less than 1gb(lolipop takes 600mb) and if you don’t play games, i think its impossible to go over 2gb only with general browser, facebook, etc.

Yes I am sure that more RAM is more important than a benchmark score.

There’s a report on XDA that the camera suffers after the update, so I’d wait to see if that is an issue before proceeding.
