Today in a post on Weibo, Meizu have confirmed that it will be the Meizu MX4 that will be released at MWC next month running Ubuntu.
Since Spanish phone maker BQ launched the first Ubuntu phone, we have been waiting and hoping that Meizu would finally announce their device and that it would have better specifications. Earlier today, Meizu posted an teaser image showing the Meizu MX4 running Ubuntu, with text pointing at a MWC release for the phone!

The image also has the URL for Meizu’s English website so we can look forward to a Meizu Ubuntu phone launched for international markets.
Compared to the BQ Ubuntu phone, the MX4 Ubuntu should have beefier specification including a 5.35-inch 1080 display, 2GB RAM, octacore MT6595 processor, LTE and a 21.1 mega-pixel Sony rear sensor.

I really hope for a dual boot option – flyme and Ubuntu for our phones!
would love a bit updated hardware like the newest mediatek(6795 dont think its available yet) or compareable specs to the pro
Apart from the Screen size and resolution, the Pro version doesnt exactly have a better hardware. Personally, I dont care about 2K resolution on my phone.
me neither but i would love for example a ddr4 ram or a 64bit cpu (i know the change is not big but still)
I had a 2K resolution on the Nubia Z7 and while it was nice to look at I really didn’t notice that big of a difference to a really good 1080p display. Actually prefer the display on my Mi4. On a screen under 10 inches it really doesn’t matter to me.
