Huawei P8 confirmed in latest teaser

huawei p8 teaser

Confirmation of an upcoming phone doesn’t get much better than a teaser from a company itself, which is exactly what Huawei have done with the upcoming P8.

When exactly the Huawei P8 will launch has been of much debate and speculation, but now at least we know for sure it won’t be at MwC. This official teaser from Huawei simply states the Huawei P8 will launch in April, but what date we still don’t know.

Gizchina News of the week

As for specifications we feel quite confident the phone will feature a 5.2-inch 1080 display, 3GB RAM and 2Ghz Kirin 930 processor with 64GB internal memory. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come as standard and with benchmarks of around 47,000 expect performance on par with current Snapdragon 801 phones.

Other details are believed to be a retail price of 2888 Yuan, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and 8 mega-pixel front.

I had high hopes from Huawei p8 and Kirin 930.
But huawei just announced Kirin 930 with low end Mali T-628 GPU .
GALAXY S6 scored 69000 on Antutu and P8 gets only 47000+
Huawei said they are targeting high end market but with this it’s not just possible .
It’s really upsetting . I wanted a Huawei phone with top class performence like the galaxy S6 , iphone 6 .

It’s neither low end nor high end. Certainly a bit older and it’s power depends on how many core implemented it. Look at Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Meizu MX4 Pro.

Though you are right about it’s weak for your expectations.

Looks like it will deliver similar performance with MT6795 depends on GPU configuration.

        It’s using the same Mali T-628 MP-4 .
        You can check :
        http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HiSilicon

It had a dissapointing performence with Mate 7 (though it’s a great device)
But with 16-nm and 64-bit processing chipset you won’t expect just 10-12% performence increase .
I was expecting 55000 in Antutu and good single and multi core score in geeks .

I understand your dissappointment, I have same feelings about Kirin 930.

Seems like Huawei like their chips cheap.

Though it will be a lot faster than P7. At least they get rid of Cortex-A9 and Mali-450.

It will be upper mid range and fast as Snapdragon 801. 16nm provide power savings and it’s a especially good thing considering P series’ thinnes.

It still could reach that score at Antutu and 5000 multi core score at Geekbench 3.

the only problematic part is going to be the GPU side Mali T624 and T628 both are sub par against Adreno 330, its like 80% of the performance of Adreno 330 found on Mi3. that is 2 years old.

Multi-tasking is very good, I have a Honor 6, a very good VFM mobile.

Galaxy S6 score is also because of it high speed memory they introduced. But i agree using a Mali T628 Mp4 would be poor decision on their part not just because of its performance being drastically weak compared to flagships of other brands but also because that GPU comparatively drains more battery and more heat, which are all outstanding factors in a slim P series. So with that GPU, P8 is way out of league of the Galaxy S6.

But i still see they have some other tricks up their sleeves to show that would over look the GPU. They would have released the P8 at MWC if they did not have much to show on the P8. The teaser point towards design which indicates that P8 will continue to target the design factor more than performance.

Well u will see how that S6 battery will stay last A HALF DAY !!! with their crappy small battery

Huawei THINKS as their phones aren’t designed for KIDS you know..
We don’t play kiddy games ..
      But for business men ( like me 😉 ) , gentleman ( like me 😉 )
This phone is for ”SMART MEN” ( like me 😉 )
And batt. will stay last longer and phone won’t overheat !

Look at Vivo X5Max they DID mistake putting shitty draining overheating shitdraggon and now they fixing it by replacing SoC putting Mediatek .. + bigger battery..

If you talk about the design , I have no problem .
In fact I am a big fan of Huawei only because of its elegant design .
Only thing I am upset at is the GPU .
I thing it should at least be Mali T-628 MP6 .
Samsung alpha using it and its good .
And camera should be a dual set up like the Honor 6 plus .
It’s dual camera produces mind blowing images like a pro camera .
Still hoping to see the best from Huawei .

No time for kiddy gamez …

Keep that in mind that Huawei is also partnering with Google to make one of next Nexus phones .
So, their is a lot more to come from Huawei then only P8 .
I am looking forward for all their products.

huawei phones are a bit over priced. im not being a hater BUT i really need to see more commitment from them in terms of marketing. we already have sony,lg,apple and other EU/US manufacturers with overpriced , luxury phones. Huawei arent breaking any ducks here. Just adding to the pile. I believe , for the sake of their OWN longevity , they should give mid-range and low-end market a shot and give other competitors a run for their money!

Huawei has been always on the budget range prior to 2014. Now they have decided to move into premium market. If you are looking for budget range+high spec phones, you can wait for Honor series phones which are meant for that .
