Gizchina News of the week
The Mlais M52 Red Note is a bold move from Mlais, and a device that is going to get them some well deserved attention. The phone features Android 5.0 Lollipop, 5.5-inch HD display, octacore MT6752 processor, 2GB RAM, LTE, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and 8 mega-pixel front. Impressive hardware even at the full retail price, and enough to shame device from larger brands.

So what ? It’s just another MT6752 phone with 2GB of RAM…. moving on… If it were a 5 inch one then it would have been news but Chinese manufacturers all seem to want to tick the … do we have a 5.5 inch MT6752 phone box.
So yeah now Mlais can tick that box too and they can be happy about it. From what I know the Jiayu 5.5 inch MT6572 has a similar price and I’d much rather get that because of the brand I guess and because I’ve no better reasons to get anything else.
Well if the bands posted above are true, a good reason to pick the Mlais over the S3 would be connectivity.
Chinese brands seem to forgot that over 500 million people on America use the 3G 850MHz band.
They don’t forget, they just don’t care :). Chinese brands don’t want to go through all the trouble to export stuff to the patent ridden USA.
Without any official channels to sell in the USA the number of sales they’d get is probably insignificant to them.
Also it would be interesting if any MT6572 would support different bands … I somehow got the feeling they make them all alike based on a reference MTK design.
Omg yes, so feeling you. I’d buy it asap, even tho I’m owning OPO right now. I “need” 5″ 6752 phone 🙁
Pre-sale promotion price $149.99, a $10 saving over the final retail price of $169.99. Is that some form of Chinese maths or what! lol
Sounds great on paper but I want to see its real world performance and build quality.
This could be either a very good and quite cheap phone or a bad made, typical cheap phone.
But I think that the price should stay at 150$, maybe even 160$, but at 170$ it’s too expensive considering that for a few dollars more you can get Jiayu S3.
