Apart from the blatant clones of the iPhone that we’ve talked about, there exists a more subtle breed of iPhone lookalikes in China… and surprisingly, it is renown brands such as ZTE that head the race in this segment.
We’ve talked about the ZTE Blade S6 series, comprising of the Blade S6 and the Blade S6 Plus, in the past. There isn’t a lot of difference in specifications of the phones, but another thing that’s similar is the fact that both look to the iPhone 6 for inspiration, at least design wise; the Blade S6 attempts to replicate the iPhone 6, whereas the Blade S6 Plus goes for (yeah, you guessed it) the iPhone 6 Plus.
Specifications: Blade S6 vs. Blade S6 Plus
To remind you of the specifications, the Blade S6 comes with a 5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 64-bit SoC, and 13 mega-pixel/5 mega-pixel cameras along with a 2400mAh non removable battery.
Gizchina News of the week
The larger of the two, i.e., the Blade S6 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch screen with the same 1280 x 720p resolution, is powered by the same octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC, and has the same amount of RAM: 2GB. In fact, the Blade S6 Plus features the same camera set as its younger brother too, i.e., a 13 mega-pixel rear and a 5 mega-pixel front camera. What’s different is the battery, which on the Blade S6 Plus stands at 3000mAh compared to the 2400mAh on the Blade S6, something which should give you an hour or so of extra battery life considering the difference in screen size.
