Rumours and teasers of a LeTV branded super phone have taken on a solid form this morning as the first LeTV X600 passes through TENAA revealing some hardware features.
Since the release of their first Android ROM, LeTV have been teasing the release of their first smartphone(s), with claims that they plan to release a ‘better iPhone’ while insiders have hinted 3 new phones could be released.
Over on the TENAA website the first LeTV X600 phone has finally appeared confirming the existence, design and certain specifications of the phone ahead of the launch.
Gizchina News of the week
According to TENAA the 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 LeTV X600 measure 147.8 x 74.2 x 9.4mm, which is actually shorter and narrower than the iPhone 6 Plus but a few mm thicker. Images of the phone seem to confirm the alloy body design that was leaked a few weeks ago, with less of an iPhone look and more of a nod to the Meizu MX4.
Specifications for LeTC X600 confirm that the phone will run Android 5.0 Lollipop on 2GB RAM and a 2.2Ghz processor (either a new Mediatek chip or Snapdragon 810). Internal memory is 16GB (other options could be offered) while the rear camera is a 13 mega-pixel rather than the rumoured 21.7mp and the front a 5 mega-pixel shooter.
We’re sure LeTV will have some other hidden features on the phone, but will need to wait for the official unveiling of the device in the coming weeks to learn exactly what they could be.
Back in December this would have been quite exciting, but things have moved on so much this year that these specs seem almost rather ordinary.
The overall size is great for a 5.5 inch display, and the likely top of the range SOC will be welcome.
Perhaps this is the base or intermediate model with something more impressive to come?
what more impressive do you need, mate?
I was wondering the same, seems to have all the usual suspects as far as current flagship phones go, with the possibility of a new more powerful SoC!
Well, that 2GB ram is so 2013.
Last year flagships had 3GB ram and this year they are going with 4GB.
Internal memory 16GB is not impressive either, it’s getting to tight for a 2015 flagship. Cameras is a déjà vu too.
To me it looks like an old phone with an updated SoC, definitely not impressive.
2GB RAM is fast getting old now, especially for a flagship device… 3GB is quickly becoming the norm soon to be 4GB I feel with all this hype on the 64-bit front… So on that side of things, I agree with Paul, it’s just not impressive, there seems to be a silly amount of phones flaunting similar specs now…
Letv phones have been rumoured and teased since December or thereabouts. They were going to be hot devices. All I am saying is that NOW this is pretty much average mid-range stuff, because things have developed so quickly, and perhaps they are playing safe before putting out the device that may blow your socks off. Mate.
how about vivo ???
if it has the dedicated dac/amp (“hi-fi” audio), i am in 😀
