Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and MiTV 3 could come at the end of the month!

Back in January Xiaomi announced its latest flagship the Mi Note along with the Mi Note Pro, the former device packing 4GB RAM and going on sale soon!

The Xiaomi Mi Note is a beautiful device. From its curved glass rear panel, slim body, alloy chassis and blazing performance, there isn’t much not to like about the basic version of the phone (except the lack of SD card). The current version of the Mi Note has 4GB RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chip and 5.7-inch 1080 display, enough for me, but if you want a little more oomph then the Mi Note Pro is what you have been waiting for.

The Mi Note Pro was also announced in January, but with 4GB RAM, 2K display and Snapdragon 810 chipset. So far the phone hasn’t been made available but rumour has it it could launch on March 31st during the 5th anniversary celebrations of Xiaomi.

It has also been rumoured that a new MITV 3, and possibly even a Xiaomi Mi Note 2 tablet could make an appearance during the 5th anniversary celebrations.

      Don’t know about Andi but I have never heard of that site. Their prices seem high but they do accept paypal which is always a good sign. They are selling the Mi4 for around $350 US, I have seen it as low as $322 on Aliexpress with free shipping.

        Can you kindly point me to some AliExpress sellers who are selling genuine Chinese phones. I haven’t ordered from Aliexpress, so it will be very helpful if you can point me to some genuine seller over there for the phones you have purchased(Xiaomi, Meizu, Jiayu, Zenfone, etc.)

      Nope, it will cost a bomb in tax. I would get the MiBox rooted an install XBMC on it (that’s what I have)

I would rather buy SD 801 phones for a relatively low price than buy the newest phones with SD 810 chipset. HTC M9 has overheating problems with the SD 810, they basically reduced the performance of this chipset to lower the temperature. The performance upgrade is not that huge anymore compared to SD 801.

  There has been some debate about the heating problems with the M9. Phone arena and Android authority both ran independent tests and found no issues whatsoever. Qualcomm ran their own tests and only found issues with the M9, not with their test devices.

    Maybe they did the tests after the firmware upgrade. Before the firmware upgrade, HTC M9 did get really hot in one situation (of course, on normal usage I doubt it will get that hot).
    What HTC M9 did was throttled down the perfomance of the chipset to reduce the heat. The benchmarks (after the new firmware) show a reduction in performance. The gap between SD 801 and SD810 is not that great anymore.

      That one situation is what has been called into question. Here is another article which completely refutes it:
      The firmware update was specifically for the M9, it was released by HTC for their software it has no effect on the overall performance of the 810. Not sure what benchmarks you have seen recently but the 801 doesn’t even come close to the 810 in most benchmarks.

Reseller price this one will probably cost over 600$. Im not starting any debate here about if it worth or not but this price range definitely lost my interest. Back in time a started checking on Chinese phones because I thought $600+ was immoral for a phone and I still believe it. I’ll stick with 300$ range for now.

  The Mi Note is selling for around $475-500 on resellers so this one will easily be $575-600. Is it worth it for the price? That will be debated ad nauseam because it comes from China and not Korea. But on paper it competes with the top phones from that country. For me my Mi4 does everything I need it to, I have no need for a new flagship.

    I have read several articles about heating issue on the Mi4 and even on Flipcart we can see people commenting about the phone getting unbearably hot during voice calls.
    Do you live in a heavily air-conditioned room where your phone always stays cool or is there any ROM or modification which keeps your phone cool?
    I was thinking about buying one but with so much negative comments, I decided not to buy it.

      It heats only on the upper right corner so not a big deal unless you do some heavy gaming. No heating on voice calls for me.
      Perfect cameras and perfect phone..much much batter than s5/g3, owned both for some time.
